“It’s been 24 days already.” Yet another crossed out day on her calendar.

Sora simply but his hand to the back of his head before responding to the other’s question. “Hmm… not really sure. I was actually taking a look around here to see if there was something I want. I kind of just started going down this section, but I guess you seem deep in thought of what fruit to get. Or maybe you’re like me and you just doze off.” A light joke, earning a smile towards his own words before continuing. “Anyways, I’m Sora. Nice to meet you.”
So he thought she was deep in thought over simple fruit huh? It went to show how looks could be deceiving to the eye. “N-No I’m just trying to hold on to some hope, that’s all.” Mercy was not the one to lie or be bashful over a truth. “It’s kind of hard.” She did not want to sour the mood, not when someone so nice and warm was around. She was able to tell that much from him quickly. “Sora?” She turned toward him and held her hand out. “I’m Mercy. It’s really nice to meet you, Sora.”
terthiodecimo:
Nicer she says. He wasn’t the one that called her a jerk earlier but it isn’t something he’s holding against her either. Roxas makes his keyblades disappear and then dusts himself off. Not like there’s much to shake off to begin with though. She’s here because she chose not to listen to him and act the rebel. That isn’t his problem. It’s enough he went out of his way to actually come here and lend her a hand. He isn’t so foul or at least he tries really hard not to be. “Like I said,” he continues when she asks if he’s just planning on leaving her behind, “just don’t make yourself very ob-” He’s not able to finish because she steps before him, probably frowning at the way he’s being. Everybody’s this way at first. Not wanting to accept this reality that they’re trapped. He’s seen it many times..and has seen those very same people slowly embrace this place and call it their home. She wasn’t so different..at least he didn’t think so. Determination and stubbornness in her eyes tell him otherwise though.
“I never bothered to look,” now’s his turn to frown, “because I don’t have a home to go back to.” It’s cruel and mean but that’s his reality. Or so he thinks. He doesn’t have this luxury of claiming he has his own home, people waiting for him with open arms. Roxas doesn’t have that. He probably never will. He does commend her determination because it seems like no matter what he says she’s not going to take it. He will face it though, since he hasn’t really bothered to look he really isn’t sure if there is a way..he just goes by what he’s heard and those who have failed. He sighs and shakes his head. Even if it is a bit annoying it’s admirable to witness first hand. How the heart doesn’t bend even when faced before adversity. He’s going to give her that much. Roxas goes ahead and reveals his face to her, crossing his arms to follow.
“You’re clearly not going to listen, are you?” He doesn’t even need to hear it from her. “Alright I’ll tag along.” He turns around and motions her to follow. “When the sun’s up I’ll show you the mountain.” It’s far more dangerous at night and Roxas doesn’t even have all of his powers yet. “Lets gather up some wood to make camp.” He’s actually pretty hungry as well. Only because he doesn’t have a home..he isn’t going to doom someone else who does because of his misfortune.
She was taken by surprise by his response. He didn’t have a home? That was pretty rough and now she was feeling bad for just blurting things out like that. “I’m sorry I didn’t know...” She apologized, but considering how he was in the short amount of time that she had come across him her apology perhaps didn’t stand for much. She really should be more careful. He caught her by surprise once again when he voiced that he’d at least tag along with her. She wasn’t the easiest to get along with, she was more than sure about that, but it was nice to see some humane behavior when it was assumed there was none. “T-Thank you!” She expressed her thanks to him, a mental note taken to heed his words instead of trying to argue with him over them. If he said it was far too dangerous to move at night then it was far too dangerous to move at night.
She followed along and did what would end up helping them both, which was to gather wood for a fire. She didn’t give him time to react but it was nice to finally see the face of the one she was talking to. He was just as young as she was, but she had already assumed that much from the start. She was quiet about it but he was also not that bad to look at. She would recommend he cut it back on the gel though.
What was requested was done and she sat down on the grass when he chose a spot for them to settle down. She also sighed when she used a tree located right behind her to lean upon. It was quiet and he might not want to take the initiative on ending the awkwardness silence brought. Their start was pretty rocky. So, she would no matter how bad she sucked at it.
“So, um thanks for your help. Again.” She set a few strands of hair behind her ear. She found it more comfortable to move and not just be still when she felt things to be tense.
“I’m sorry about earlier. This is just not something that happens to me everyday.” She hoped he would understand that. “It really means a lot to me that you’ve agreed to help me out.” She smiled at him. “M-My name is Mercy by the way!” She just remembered she never properly introduced herself to him. “What’s yours?”
terthiodecimo:
Roxas watches as the environment itself slowly becomes dark as day itself fades. Whoever that new girl was, she chose the wrong time and moment not to listen to it considering just how many dangers linger in the dark if one isn’t too careful with what lies within it. Where she ends up isn’t too hard for him to guess given that this road only leads to the mountain, all he has to do is trace steps that would take a clueless one towards it. “Where did you go?” He mumbles under his breath after a small sigh. The answer to that question doesn’t seem to wait that long though. His answer is given to him in the form of a scream. He hates to be this way but he told her so didn’t he?
He waits, trying to see if anything occurs which all that does is the sound of vicious beasts chasing after their prey. That’s really all the signal he needs so before anybody knows it Roxas blends into the shadows and lets them eat him up entirely. The corridor he intends to take opening within all of the shadows to transport him where it is he wants to go.
The next time he appears he’s standing right in between her and the wolves that want to feast on her. Quite his entry as the corridor rises from the cold ground to reveal him once he steps out, to only sink back into the ground and fade away. He doesn’t spare her a thought or two, as long as she doesn’t fall of that edge she’s fine. Hands are held out to call forth his keyblades, the wolves not seeming to want to give up their meal, so he engages his battle stance to express his hostility as well. That’s enough to trigger the beasts. Roxas doesn’t wait for them to come to him so he goes towards them as well. He doesn’t waste their life, not killing any of them but he does enough injury to get his message across: that he isn’t one to be messed with. He throws the Oblivion at one that tries to get passed him in order to slam it back against a tree and that seems to signal the small little group of wolves to call it quits. Leaving him and her alone. He makes the decision not to call his keyblades away.
“I told you, didn’t I?” Turning to look at her, he frowns at her for her rash behavior. “You almost got hurt.” He’s unaware that she has powers to call her own so he’s being a bit more harsh than usual since he would think that anybody who doesn’t have any actual powers would know better. “If you’re still adamant on finding this nonexistent path towards your home, take that bridge.” He points. “It’ll take you straight up the mountain. I do suggest that you wait until the sun comes up..it’s far more dangerous to move at all in these parts at night..as you probably already know.” Unlike her though, he isn’t trapped here. He can just call a corridor and he’s back within the city. “Safe camping and stay safe, alright? Don’t make yourself too obvious.” He offers his advice.
She felt a mix of surprise and shock when the same one from before appeared right in front of her. Why did he come after her? It looked like a battle was about to unfold and she really hoped not but sadly it could not be helped. She immediately looked away wishing not to witness this violence first hand. Heavy to her chest that if she would have listened to him then perhaps this would not be happening right now. She's unsure of how long it took him and she didn't really want to know how long it lasted but when she bothered to look she was greeted with some of the visage that hid itself under that hood. She could barely tell but there's blue eyes and blonde strands of hair. So...he really is just a boy. He looked upset with her and even if it did get to her the blame really was on her this time so she wasn't an entire brute. "I know, I'm sorry." She refused to say that she should have listened to him because he actually needed to learn how to be a bit nicer in the first place. "Maybe if you were a bit nicer with your approach that would've helped a lot." She gave her advice. Not just with her but with anybody.
At the moment of the storm she hadn’t paid much attention to it but now that everything had calmed down she came to realize that he as well seemed to carry his own set of powers. So, she’s not the only special one in this place? A bizarre thought to wrap her head around. She looked over to the bridge that slowly faded from view into the shadows of the night. She wasn’t going to deny that she still wished to find out for herself and see for herself. As much as a bad idea as that already was...but she just wanted to find out for her own.
“W-Wait safe camping? You’re not just going to leave me in this place are you?” And here she thought he was redeemable. She too that thought back. “Okay, look I should have listened to you but can you blame me for looking for a way back home?” She tried to defend her case. “Being taken from my every day life isn’t just something I’m willing to accept.” She frowned and stood in front of him. “You might say there’s no way back home but I bet you never even bothered to look, wherever the heck this is.” She wasn’t going to bother to find out. “If searching for a way back and being hopeful about it makes me annoying to you then I guess we won’t be getting along very well but please...please I want to go back home. I need help from someone who knows this place.” And he spoke to her like he knew it well. “Just bear with me a little longer please.”
terthiodecimo:
Out of all the options she has she chooses to defy his wiser words. Through his concealment he raises a brow at her final word. Did she just call him a jerk? “Does the truth hurt you so much?” He’s one to spout words like that this hypocrite he can be sometimes. It doesn’t look like she’s going to listen to him though given that she’s still persistent and going on her merry way. “You’re going to get hurt on your own..especially if you just arrived here. You don’t know what you’re walking into!” He decides to add while she’s walking away, but who’s he if other’s don’t want to listen to logic so he simply waves his hand in a dismissing manner, choosing to let her be reckless so that she learns. “Fine I guess.” He turns around and decides to walk back into the city, to get lost in it. And, just as he’s about to open a corridor he stops himself.
He turns to look in the direction the girl left. She’s probably out of his sight by now. “..” He sighs and shakes his head and decides against his initial decision of letting her walk into danger. “Why do I do this to myself..” He mumbles in annoyance to his own indecision, now he being the one walking after her.
That did not go as well as anticipated, but she would never take kindly someone who forced themselves to help others and then admitting in the end that they did not even want to help them out in the first place. It's irrational to her, it didn't make any sense. And, frankly she was beginning to believe that she should have probably heeded that warning of his she told him to heed. She had no idea where she was and how long she'd walked. Was there even a path she was following anymore? She bothered to look and be brought to the rough reality that the dirt road she had followed was no longer there. Great. "Oh man," she immediately began to eye her surroundings. Listening to music to ease her nerves wouldn't help at the moment. Aware that she was at her surrounding's wader lust mercy, no she wouldn't find any easing in her music. The sun had begun to set and she was literally among nowhere in these woods.
Trees gave her complexity in sighting the city afar. "I'm in trouble now." She learned the hard way and with her pride's reluctance she admitted to herself. If she stopped traveling now that would be worse so she continued. Where? She's no longer sure. That boy in the black coat spoke of some mountain with that attitude of his she could have almost missed it. Perhaps if she walked farther she would see it for herself. She nodded to herself and paced on. The darker it got the more lively these woods became. She stopped herself from yelling at the sound of a wolf howl by covering her mouth. She began to feel watched or perhaps it was just her paranoia that kicked in. Feline-like eyes gleamed in the distance which proved that she was indeed being watched but she failed to take notice of them.
"I really don't want to be anybody's lunch..." Her voice trailed off as she looked from one direction to the other and when she faced forward to make sure she would not run into anything to her shock when she encountered a snake hanging off a branch to hiss at her and all she did was stumble steps back and scream in return. Her scream haven gotten a thunderous and intimidating roar within the shadows near her.
She immediately booked it. The feeling of being chased in haste was not something she had to bother to stop and confirm for she could feel the heat of it on her back, the growling and the fangs that bore towards her in hunger. Why didn't she listen?! She was unsure of where her legs were taking her but as long as she didn't become dinner that would be just perfect.
She was exhausted but that wasn't what stopped her, what stopped her was the lack of ground. The end to the bottom of this edge is covered in fog and there was a bridge that lead further ahead but hefty feet away from her. She miscalculated, she miscalculated bad. Her intentions of running towards that bridge are stopped when wolves finally reveal themselves, circling her. "Nice wolves," she would have her hands held out while she took steps back, making sure she would not fall to her end instead. "Please don't make me use my powers." She begged to only have them bare their teeth at her.
She hated to use her powers on anything. Time was a sensitive subject as it stood. Even if it were not much she could do at the moment she still made a promise to her mother of not using or abusing this gift she had. That and she really did not like to use it on living things, but no matter what she did it seemed like she was going to be dinner this night.

“If you heed my warning or not is of no concern to me,” that’s a choice she’s going to make for herself after all. If anything he just spoke up for the sake of clearing his conscious and not just letting someone who, he assumes, has just gotten here walk towards their own demise. “The road you’re going to take leads anywhere but this home of yours. It’s going to take you to a mountain where a beast rests and awaits for its next meal.” He decides to inform her. By her manner of speaking he can easily tell she’s pretty new to this place. “There is no road or way back to your home. So don’t go wandering off searching for one.” Usually he wouldn’t care but lately he’s been trying to help those willing to allow him to help them. This change..he’s still not sure if he likes it or not yet. “You’re trapped here until the scientists get bored of you.” Well, aren’t you just being harsh now Roxas.
“Yeah nice story pal, thanks.” Who did this creep think he was anyway? Heed his warning? A mountain with a beast on it? No way back home? Trapped by some scientists? This vaguely sounded like some sort of book or something like that. She was definitely not buying anything this boy was saying. Not with that tone and attitude of his she wasn’t. “If you don’t care, as you so kindly state that you don’t,” she clawed at him with her own tone, “then just let me find out for myself alright?” She despised to give this little attitude, but if he doesn’t care as he so rudely said he doesn’t then he should just go on ahead and mind his own business. Going as far as to even tell her that she won’t be going back home. “Now, if you’ll excuse me. Have a nice day.” She dismissed herself and went down this path he told her she might want to avoid. “Jerk.”

The market was bustling with so many people. Looking around this area, it reminds Sora about the markets in Agrabah. District Kappa was basically an open market, with foods from different kinds of worlds. Something the boy wouldn’t mind trying out. That is, if he had enough money to afford them all. But that didn’t matter. Now he had to be very careful to not spend everything in one go. looking around the shops would be best to see and figure out what to spend his money on. Hopefully something that wouldn’t have a certain Keyblade Master from giving a certain look of ‘you’ll never gain any muscle if you keep eating junk food’ look.
Looking around at the fruits they had, he look over to his side, seeing that she was deciding on what to buy, if she was going to get anything. He couldn’t help but comment on her staring at them. “If you like, I can help buy one fruit, and you can get the other. What do you say? You look like you can’t decided to what to get.” So much for saving his money for himself.
She was hoping for her stay to be temporary but as days progressed that little hope of hers got smaller and smaller. Never was she the sort to sulk out in the open so she would attempt to make with what she was presented for the time being. Maybe she’ll go back one day. She must just remain patient. She wished to snack on something before she made attempts to get familiar with this city again which explains her current location. To her surprise when someone who’s about her age, she assumed, offered some of his hospitality.
She did not mean to stare for too long but can hair really be like that? She silently wondered just how much gel he used to get his hair to stay up like that. He seemed to be extremely kind however. “I guess that’ll be okay.” She really can’t decide. Was it that obvious? “Are you trying to decide on what to get as well?”
@invisiblize
Time itself halted within a certain isolated radius within a park where Mercy found herself attempt for the second shot at having time stop and pause for more than 10 little seconds. Why was time not cooperating with her in this city out of any other location? “C’mon, please!” Audible barely, but she hissed in some silent pain. Her head was aching badly. Why was this so hard all of a sudden? It was just too frustrating. The 10 seconds hit yet again and that was final. The radius within the park Mercy had stopped went back to its regular tempo. “Ugh, why!” A shout of mere frustration whilst strained arms fell loosely. Her body following along, laying upon the damp grass after she adjusted her glasses over her eyes. “Why aren’t you listening to me?” Her question was not towards anything anybody could see, after all some don’t even consider time to be an actual concept.
@terthiodecimo
“I don’t want to seem judgmental or anything but you don’t exactly strike a lot of confidence.” Who’s she attempting to deceive, it’s extremely judgmental. But, can the blame be placed on her? Someone claiming that it would be best to stay within this unknown city rather than search for their way back home in nothing more than a black coat? By the mere sound of his voice she was able to pin point he’s male and Mercy’s never had the best history with boys and doubtful that would ever come to change. Self deeming her own reasoning plausible. “Look I just really want to go back home, so just let me be alright?” It’s reckless, but her powers were always handy in their much time of need.
hi! first time putting an oc in a group so I’m pretty excited to see how it goes!
here’s a starter call for a starter that’ll vary in length. there’s also no cap to this but might be selective if it gets too overwhelming thank you!
