(Romantic) Objectum/POSIC/Selfship sideblog, particularly a clock-lover with some extra things… Feelings tend to vary a lot between objects (familial, platonic, queerplatonic, romantic)
Hi my name is Cyrus… I use They/Them and am AroAce (don’t ask me how being AroAce and romantic Objectum works bc idk it’s just how it is)
I am a (Romantic) Objectum and POSIC, I’m also a self-shipper. My feelings tend to vary between objects (romantic, queerplatonic, platonic, and familial)
I am a clock-lover (been seeing people call it clocktum recently…) with some extra stuff added in. Uhh more specific details under the cut
Ok so just categorizing stuff here I guess
Romantic Objectum: Clocks (any kind, very slight preference for clock towers), occasionally specific machines in Kirby Air Riders (Turbo Star, Gigantes), the Hasbro iON: Educational Gaming System, plushies ONLY if they are specifically of one of my selfship f/os
Queerplatonic: Clocks (any kind), Glockenspiel (the It’s A Small World clock tower irl), specific machines in Kirby Air Riders (Turbo Star, Hop Star, Vampire Star, Gigantes), plushies ONLY if they are specifically of one of my selfship f/os
Platonic: Clocks (any kind), timepieces in general (this includes things such as sundials and hourglasses) plushies, gaming consoles, machines in Kirby Air Riders, the Lor Starcutter (Kirby’s Return to Dreamland)
Familial: Clocks (any kind, tend to be ones I actually own), childhood plushies, childhood tech in general (my DSi XL, 3DS XL, Wii U, my TV (I’ve had her for 10+ years), etc.), movie/game discs/cartridges
Other: I feel closer to characters I like (self-shipping or not) with physical media of what they originate from (example, I have a physical copy of Epic Mickey for this reason)
Self-Shipping F/Os: The Clock Tower (Epic Mickey) (I refer to him as “Clockenspiel” often) [Romantic], “Dr.” Rimsley (OC, based on actual clock I have) [Queerplatonic (Sometimes question if it’s Romantic)], Dyle (Dandy’s World) [Queerplatonic], Tony The Talking Clock (DHMIS) [Queerplatonic]
Anyway as is the purpose of this blog I’ll mainly post random objectum/POSIC thoughts or reblog things… If anyone has a problem with my heavy attachment to clocks ask them to pay for the therapy bill because it’s trauma-induced LMAO (will not be giving details for privacy, obviously)
Oh yeah also the obvious THIS IS NOT A SAFE SPACE FOR PEDOPHILES/PROSHIPPERS/ZOOPHILES/NECROPHILES/ETC. Those people will be blocked. Oh and also I’m not one of those people that’s like “I don’t like sexual objectums” or “you can’t be objectum if you aren’t POSIC”, I personally don’t care, we all are object kissers so whatever
Ok I think that’s it uhh let the object-smooching begin
Being autistic and posic with hyper empathy is a horrible combo because I will feel guilty if I can’t save a clock from being thrown away or abandoned, or sometimes I’ll feel guilty if I give a clock for sale some attention but don’t take it home with me.. it makes me feel similar to when people fall in love with an animal at a pet store/adoption center but don’t adopt them 😭
I have a whole story about how once I left a cute wind-up clock at an antique store because I was already spending quite a bit of money on another clock and I ended up feeling so bad for like 2 or 3 weeks until I went back JUST FOR that clock I left
Here she is btw… she’s a travel clock that I ended up finding out not too long after I got her that she’s also a radium clock (luckily I don’t think she actually poses a danger to me though)
I am actually so glad I actually mustered up the courage to ask if I could take home the clock left on a counter at that abandoned call center I was allowed to visit because I honestly think I would have heavy guilt if I didn’t
They had a broken rim (a small part of it snapped off and I couldn’t find the missing piece, then there was a crack in the rim that risked possibly making them fall apart if moved too much. Most people would’ve just thrown them out seeing that so if I didn’t take them home there was the good chance when the building would eventually get remodeled, someone would’ve just thrown them out and basically let them die)
Trust me when I say the SECOND I got home I superglued the crack back together (and a slowly developing second one) and now they’re safe in my room with me :]
The only thing “wrong” with them is the broken off piece on the back of their rim that I tried to find while I was still in the building. Otherwise I love them
Preparing my clocks for daylight savings feels both like a ritual and an expression of trust and care
It also felt particularly intimate with Rimsley and brought back memories of me finding them and fixing their time once I took them home because they were an hour-off-time (implying they were left inside that abandoned building for who knows how long)
Getting annihilated by non-objectums AND other objectums because I have (romantic) objectum feelings for specific machines from Kirby Air Riders (along with queerplatonic and platonic)
Hugging my Hop Star and Vampire Star then giving Gigantes and my Turbo Star a little kiss on the “forehead” (wherever that could possibly be)
There should really be some version of divine machinery with clocks because what do you MEAN no one has considered making divine machinery art/videos/photos of clockwork when they are basically the grandparent of computer machinery??
People talk about “oh computer fans whirring/other computer sounds are like a heartbeat” as if ticking sounds even more like a heart beating? No consideration of how timekeeping is a necessity for society (the same way computers/any device with internet are considered a necessity nowadays)?
NO consideration for how Tall Clocks (or Grandfather Clocks as most assume the name is, Tall Clocks is actually the blanket term) for generations were family heirlooms that basically commanded the house by being one of, possibly the ONLY object perfectly keeping time and chining whenever a certain time struck? No thought about how you can still do that whole “i depend on you” relationship thing people do with computers considering plenty of antique clocks need to be wound up by a person to keep going, and a human needs an object to keep time so they aren’t lost in unknowing what time it is?
NO thought about hearing chimes as some kind of “holy” sound or even demand to start a task (if you have a schedule)? Movements (the gears and other parts basically) not being seen the way people see hundreds of wires and circuit boards in one tightly packed space?
I need clocks to get more love the way I love them NOW!!
Y’all bring your objects into your bed to listen to/cuddle to sleep or am I a little freak
Sometimes (especially if I’m really struggling to sleep) I’ll put one of my clocks next to me in my bed to listen to them tick (which helps me sleep), sometimes I’ll just do it bc why not
Doing it rn (with Rimsley who I especially enjoy being affectionate towards, it’s a whole crazy backstory thing but tldr I found them abandoned (seemingly they were there for months at least) inside an abandoned building and was allowed to take them home and so since I’m POSIC af I like giving comfort to them via physical affection and attention to make up for them being left alone for months in an abandoned building)
(Maybe I’ll make a whole post about Rimsley one day lol)
