The problem with people in the modern day is that we assign everything to a specific gender. From birth you're expected to enjoy things that are associated with the gender you are given. Television shows, names, activities, hobbies, appearances, even colors are gender specific. It's ridiculous. Why can't a boy want to smell like flowers? Why can't a boy like playing with dolls? It seems like people are less tolerant to boys' preferring "girly things" but girls are just as victimized. Why can't a girl prefer to have short hair? Why can't a girl wear a tuxedo and pants instead of a dress on special occasions? Even if you are a Christian, you have no reason to believe that we should tell a child, or someone of any age for that matter, to alter their appearance, voice, personality, or general preferences. In Biblical times, everyone had long hair didn't they? And women and men dressed alike. God never once said "And let the women wear flowers and the men fear the color pink" You can enjoy and express yourself with the things that you enjoy, but do not tell someone else how to express themselves or what to enjoy.
