Okay, time for a rant

It's not just that Ani is so un-fucking-bearable that I almost stopped watching season 3, it's just.. her character is so unrealistic. This new girl just showed up and suddenly everyone is spilling their deepest and darkest secrets to her and she randomly becomes the narrator. She's in every scene, every situation just out of the blue. Interrogating everyone like the fucking FBI and they just, let her. She gets in the group with zero effort whatsoever. Taking away scenes from characters that actually matter to the show.

And why make her a love interest for Clay? The writers dropped the ball here. He deserves much better writing, especially after Hannah. Ani says she's "scared" of Clay, saying he's obsessive and has boundary issues, girl you legit Slept. With. A. Rapist. How she treated him pissed me off. Also, Ani thinking Clay would kill for her.. give me a fucking break.

Season 3 had so much potential, I still think it was good don't get me wrong, but it could've been great. I'm not sure if the writers tried to make her so unlikable? Or what they were trying to do, but it didn't work.

Having sex with someone actually is a big deal and involves a ton of vulnerability and I think it’s extremely troubling and gross and unhealthy and actually exceptionally dangerous that we pretend otherwise and encourage people to “be mature” by compartmentalizing/completely eliminating their deeper human emotions from their sexuality and that any other view is dismissed as prudish and invalid and unenlightened and childish and restrictive.
