"The New Heir"

Sooooo, the Lower Decks penultimate episode had me going insane for multiple reasons. One of the biggest was T'Pol and her 63 year long marriage to Trip. So I drew some snapshots!

we all know Trip is a big softie and a crybaby so I think he'd cry (for both of them) at both their weddings.

I think they named their Xindi saga AU son Lorian cause that was T'Pol's dad's name. Just like they named their daughter Elizabeth after Trip's sister. I think they remember them and they wouldn't re-use those names for any additional kids they would have.

Baby number 2! I think Trip would want to keep the naming tradition of "Charles Tucker" alive but I don't think he or T'pol would care much the gender of the child they give the name to.

T'Lor takes after his mom. His emotions are more Vulcan (volatile) so he definitely followed the path of logic. He was kind of adrift as a young adult but ended up becoming a mechanic for a number of years before becoming a teacher at a technical school.

Charles "Liz" Tucker IV takes after her dad and joined the Academy out of high school and became an engineer. Unlike her dad and brother though, she found she's much more interested in research and development. She ends up working to design and test new star ships.

Married 63 Years

A former cat burglar, it's not surprising he met his wife when he was stealing from her employer. but lucky for him he was cute (and her boss was a total asshole) so she didn't beat his ass. Instead she picked it up and married him! (there's more going on, but you'll have wait to find out ;)

Ahmed and his wife, Lena, soon after their marriage. c. 1546

(Ahmed is the eldest son of Marie and Hassan. He Left home at 19 to have adventures. He met Lena when he was pulling a con against her father and she made him cut her in. Shenanigans ensued and they got married a few months later after a whirlwind relationship.)

Marie and Hassan's story takes place in the early 1500s in an alternate universe where magic (normally) exists. An unknown catastrophe has happened about 70 years before they meet that has removed magic from the world.

The only remnants are tomes of magic, magical devices (called conduits) that no longer work, and the regional birth mutations that used to tell where someone was born, and now are just a record of where their parents, grandparents were from.

They meet in 1511 on the road. Marie and her older sister, Anne, are looking for their father, who disappeared in the night after they all escaped a house fire that was started by a mysterious band of people. They come upon Hassan and his three friends. They’re traveling after escaping a particular bizarre encounter with a reclusive count and his household.

For Marie, at 17, it’s love at first sight. Hassan is rugged and handsome and super charming. Hassan, 29 and struggling with trauma galore and hiding it with charm and kindness, doesn’t see Marie as anything more than a ragged kid with her sister he and his buddies decide to help.

At first she’s painfully shy and can barely speak to Hassan, even though the 6 of them have decided to travel together to help find the girls’ father and figure out who burned their house down. Bit by bit she gets used to being around him and can relax more. Hassan treats her kindly, but absentmindedly, never seeing her as more than a shy spooked kid.

Together, the 6 of them solve the mystery of the missing father and the brigands. Along the way Marie sees through the cracks of Hassan’s shell to his hurt and trauma he tries so hard to hide. It’s what moves her feelings from crush to love, but due to her self esteem and how he treats her (like a kid), she keeps her feelings to herself, resigned and satisfied to just keep loving him for her sake. To her, if she can make his burden easier and make his life easier, that will be enough for her (yeah keep telling yourself that, Marie!).

For Hassan, after The Mystery is solved, he starts to admire her and see her as a true friend. Due to his past and his first impressions though, Marie is as far from the romance category as she could be.

Over the years, they stay close. Marie opens an inn and Hassan and his buddies visit often. As time goes on and his friends get married or busy with their own lives, it starts to be that Hassan is the only one who visits regularly anymore.

(Romance Novel Plot I Haven’t Figured Out Yet!)

They get married in 1516 after a short engagement and live happily together for the next 88 years!

(Hassan is from the equivalent of modern-day Turkey, people from that region are sometimes called Coluratori, or Painted, and their hair, skin and eyes can be any shade of the rainbow)

(Marie's father is from the equivalent of France and people there have feathers instead of hair, her mother was from the equivalent of Holland, and people there don't have a birth mutation. Since Marie was born after The Event, she has both her parents' mutations, as shown with a shock of feathers near the front of her head)
