Heart stabs. I don’t have feelings! You have feelings!

You must not fight too often with one enemy, or you will teach him all your art of war.

Being smart is what keeps some people from being intelligent.
Thomas Sowell (via texas-conservative)
Most people seem to me like the guy we met at the bus station. He’s probably smart enough, has some good interests, & maybe even some of the right ideas, but at the end of the day he has absolutely nothing to offer me or show me. Walking through a world populated by people such as this gives one the feeling of being perhaps the last living cell in a dead body. I know you feel that everyone has a story to tell, but for me, 99 times out of 100 it’s a story I don’t care to know. Crowly, smart as he was, felt that every man and woman is a star. That’s total bullshit. Stars are few & far between – that’s why they’re cherished. They’re beacons of brightness in a vast world of darkness, separated one from another by countless light years of distance. Few people are as stars that truly shine & sparkle & give off brilliance. Planets, sure. Asteroids, absolutely. Far more are like moons, able to reflect light but incapable of generating it. I cherish you because I am acutely, painfully aware of just how rare you are. And even though many many miles separate us I can always feel the warmth of your glow & savor your brilliance. I’m so very glad that you’ve come into my life.
