Uuuuuuh 😮 A dear longtime collaborator & friend (who was the first person to tell me they thought I had talent as a songwriter wayyyy back 2001) sent some sunshine my way today ✨☀️🤗✨ I’ve always been pretty low-key when it comes to my own work, and once a song is written and recorded I have a hard time taking credit for it. Perhaps that’s just part of the songwriting process, and in many interviews with songwriters I’ve heard it said that when in the flow, songwriting feels more like “channeling” or “capturing“ rather than just creating something from scratch. In any case, sometimes compliments make me squirm but who am I to argue with someone who’s opinion I respect 😌 When writing, the process can be very therapeutic and meditative, but once finished, if my songs and music move even one person and I feel like I’ve succeeded at something meaningful. I’m incredibly grateful that music has been primary occupation since 2006. This is possible because of the friends, fans and musical community who have listened loved and supported my music over the years.
