if theres one thing that really pissed me off from my 3 years of architecture i took in high school it's learning about how we used to have all these little techniques to maximize or minimize heat or warmth and now we just merrily abandoned all those to have the same copypaste style buildings everywhere that are often INCREDIBLY unoptimized to the local weather and climate so we can just throw more money at our heating and cooling bills

where i live it is hot as balls approximately 80% of the year. i do not want a massive butt-ugly grey mcmansion with a huge echoey open-concept kitchen-livingroom-foyer-diningroom-staircase that has huge windows so i can have an hvac unit the size of a barge heaving and straining to keep it at a constant 72 the grees. i want a north indian traditional style home with small windows to force the airflow to cool, decorative grates to limit the amount of sunlight, and a COURTYARD with a POND *smashes unspecified large object*

people on here make ocs and they're mostly men and they ship characters and they're always men and they have favourite characters and they're always men but sometimes they say the men are like women not trans ones though because that would be guh-ross and harsh the vibe of the #fandomspace and they write fanfiction about men and talk about how complicated and #deeplywritten their male favs are and they'll watch movies and tv shows with mostly male casts in every way that matters and not question it because well what do you want them to do about it and they don't even care that that's what they're doing to them it's pure coincidence they always like the male characters better it's pure chance that women are only interesting as yaoi cheerleaders and actually when they write female characters as yaoi cheerleaders they're doing them a favour because they were just so poorly written in the source material it's the charitable thing to do men men men men men men men and if you say anything about it well you're being a killjoy you're being no fun you're being homophobic you're being a misandrist god what is it about women right what is it about women always trying to ruin our fun? why do they care so much? they're just women. who wants to think about women at all.

yesterday during a conversation i realized i don't write akane stupid enough

everyone knows the famous mischaracterizations she can get, being a nag, having ultra serious anger issues, low self esteem by comparing herself to the other fiancees

i noticed that even in stories where akane's fine enough she's a bit too aware

too snappy too sarcastic too always wise in every situation

doesn't have enough uuuh i don't wanna say dumbness

naivety

obliviousness

silliness

whimsy

Akane has moments where she's the sarcastic straight man, the one that sighs and go "this is really my life huh"

but a lot of the time her dynamic with ranma can also be like those cartoons where someone has to babysit a newborn who'll do anything in their power to kill themselves causing anxiety and hijinx

you know, the part of Akane that'll put eggs in the microwave and go "this is an awesome idea" and will jump in a river with a strong current, the part that'll see ryoga transform in front of her and still find a way to not connect the dots

the ranma cast passes the brain cell among each other, there's no set straight man

and when it's akane's turn to be dumb as bricks she's gonna be dumb as bricks, the densest bricks you've ever seen
