So, as you know, or don't, an employee got fired from Starbucks and they posted all the recipes online =)
part 1
part 2/2
Hey, as a current sbux barista, the drink recipes aren't a secret. I can understand if no one knew where to look however! The recipes themselves are on the starbucks app and people are able to customize the drink as much as they want. You can also find how to make them online. The starbucks subreddit has a big training guide for new baristas to learn the drinks and it goes over the amount of pumps in each size and all that.
The "secret" to starbucks drinks is in their own branding of syrups, sauces, and toppings. Hell, you can make the frappuccinos at home fairly easily and the only "secret" stuff is the frappuccino base, which is a simple sugar syrup with xanthan gum for thickening. The frappuccino coffee mixture is basically an instant coffee mix.
It's good to have all of this in one post as a reference! The cold foam is probably not on the app specifically, and I can understand wanting to make that at home. But for normal recipes, the app has it all. Here's for hot chocolate.
This isn't any kind of ad for it, but rather if you want to know what's in any drink this is how! There are copycat recipes for the sauces, and espresso machines can be fairly cheap. The standard syrups you find in the store should be a good sub for the syrups in store.
For standard Vanilla Sweet Cream for cold foam (we make it in a 2L pitcher):
1 L Heavy Cream
350 mL Vanilla Syrup
650 mL 2% Milk
To make it into a cold foam, add 2 pumps of whatever syrup you would like (for salted caramel foam it's 2 pumps caramel syrup, 2 packets of salt like thise you get at sit down restaurants), and 100 mL of vanilla sweet cream to a blender and blend on low for about 15 seconds (if you have a blender with a disc blade, that works best for this) until it thickens. A mixer would also work well, mix until soft peaks form.
The chocolate foam has 2 scoops (size of teaspoons) of chocolate malt powder.
Vanilla sweet cream foam is just the sweet cream mixture above foamed up.
Cinnamon cold foam has cinnamon dolce syrup.
Matcha foam is 2 tsp scoops of matcha.
Pumpkin foam is made with pumpkin sauce.
Anyway if ppl are interested I can share more recipes. The main ones aren't a secret, but things like the cold foam possibly are. I can't tell you about the mocha because it comes in a bag of powder and I don't know the recipe. We just add water and mix. It smells like brownie mix tho.
I wish that for all of you! ❤️

Life is not over when you turn 30. If anything, life is more stable and enjoyable and you're more mature. Everyone who's over 30 tells me how much safer they feel in life and that their 20's really was for trauma, pain, mental illness and that their 30's are a safer space and a happier space. Being scared to get older is such a brainwashing, ageist thing. Good things are coming.
