was reading through your rules/dni and i'm a little surprised there was zero mention of zoophiles with how scarily common it is on here. hoping that might just be an oversight /nm /gen

okay. I'm going to answer this as gently as possible because i can tell you are coming from a place of good intent, but you probably won't like my answer.

firstly, yeah, it was an oversight to only include child abusers and not animal abusers. however, "scarily conmon"? i screen my new followers and I've literally never had anyone interact that posted exploitative content with animals, or talk about abusing animals irl. sorry you found those people, but I've not at all and I'm really not sure where you found them.

i will not be putting zoophiles in my DNI however. i don't actually have anything against paraphiles following me or interacting; paraphilias are not the root of all evil, and a majority of paraphiles (though there's substantive correlation between sex offenses and paraphilic disorders, a majority of paraphiles don't meet clinical criteria for a PD) of any type do not offend in their lifetimes. did you know that "transvestic" paraphilic disorder is still in the DSM-V? If you experience distress over your crossdressing (even if the reason isn't actually the crossdressing), you might have a doctor actually diagnose you with a paraphilic disorder instead of dysphoria. same if you like your partner to slap you (sexual masochism paraphilic disorder). it's really that easy. paraphilias aren't as clear cut as you probably hope, and just having one means very little about your likelihood to offend. the reason pedophiles are listed there is because i am a CSA victim by an "opportunistic" type child predator, and i do not want to be confronted with even fictional content that strays too close to my triggers. animals can't consent, so anyone engaging with them sexually is a predator and animal abuser, and that is a hard line; but fictional characters, even animals, don't need to consent because they don't exist. fiction is not an automatic reflection of reality. zoophiles aren't like that by choice, and I'm not going to punish them for their psychology, just like i don't for any other paraphilias, and just like i don't for "normal" sexual interests. paraphiles that aren't specifically pedophiles are welcome here without shame.
