It’s been several days, but I finally got enough wifi, so thank you all for joining Secret Santa this year! It’s been a while, but it was so nice seeing all the amazing gifts you guys gave each other. Thank you all so much for joining and (hopefully) making the holidays amazing :)
Just to round off the event, here are a few things to take note of:
If your Santa hasn’t revealed themselves, private message me on either this blog or @artemisianfire, and I’ll reveal them for you.
TLCSS Survey. If you guys have time, it would be awesome if you could fill out this survey! Just to let me know what to improve on and how to make this event better next year :)
And finally, Happy New Year! I feel like I say this every year, but it’s been great to spend the last few weeks with you all and I hope the new year treats everyone well <3
When you asked me to write something to go with this drawing of yours, I immediately felt the ideas coming. I wish I had the time to write a multi-chapter fic, but I hope that you’ll enjoy this little fic too!
I wish you amazing and wonderful Christmas days and may 2019 bring you love, laughter and dreams coming true.
For as long as she can remember, Winter has visions of futures that can be. Luckily here at Hogwarts she has a group of amazing friends to help her and support her.
Oh no. Oh no.
Winter blinked a few times, but no matter what she tried, the walls of Hogwarts were covered in blood. When she stared at her shoes, she saw that they were covered in the same red liquid.
Just close your eyes. It’s not happening. It’s not real.
Winter pressed her hands to her temples and breathed in and out while she closed her eyes.
At home her boyfriend Jacin would hold her and press her to his chest. He would whisper that everything would be alright. That she was just dreaming. That she just had to keep breathing. That she would be fine.
And he wouldn’t know how wrong he was. How could he? He was a muggle. He didn’t know anything about magic. He didn’t know about all the weird things in Winter’s life.
And sometimes she wondered if he would still look at her with those eyes filled with love if he did. She liked to think he would. After all, if he could already love her this much without a proper explanation for her weirdness, he could only love her more if he knew where it came from.
“Winter?” Two firm hands grabbed her shoulders and Winter opened her eyes.
The walls of Hogwarts were still bleeding, but at least there was now a different shade of red distracting her from it.
Tomorrow will be the last day of TLC Secret Santa! it’s been so much fun with you all these past two weeks, so let’s finish off the event with some great reveals tomorrow!
Quick reminder, the last gift can be anything you want! You just have to reveal yourself :) A simple message, a joke, art, or a fanfic -- anything that just closes off the event nicely. If you guys are having trouble thinking of ideas, feel free to refer back to the first message I sent on Dec. 14th, with some info about your recipient.
“Is there anything on this menu that doesn’t involve tomatoes?!” Thorne protested.
Scarlet aimed a pointed look at him from across the table.
“We agreed that it was Wolf’s turn to make Christmas dinner this year. And at least he made an effort!” Scarlet said, indicating the table.
Several dishes were scattered before the crew. Lasagna, Spaghetti Bolognese, Cheese and tomato pizza and cheesy nachos with a tomato salsa.
Scarlet didn’t have the heart to tell him these weren’t traditional Christmas dishes. But she did stop him when he suggested a tomato sorbet. Scarlet insisted on helping Wolf but he was as insistent on her relaxing while he handled everything (with Scarlet’s instructions, of course). Looking at all the dishes, Scarlet’s heart warmed with pride.
“Besides, I’m sure we don’t have to remind you of your not-so-successful dinner the year before?” Cinder countered.
Sitting beside her, Cress stifled a giggle.
Thorne pointed an accusing finger at Cinder, then lowered it.
“In my defence, Cress was ill and I’ve never cooked before. So, of course, I thought it would be an ingenious idea to buy a ‘state-of-the-art’ android. I had no idea that it was programmed by a psycho, lunar- hater to cook us for dinner!"
"Not surprising really. What do you expect from a guy whose looks are the only thing going for him?” Jacin deadpanned.
Thorne smirked.
“Why, thank you, Jacin. I didn’t realise i was your type.”
Scarlet watched as Cress burst out laughing, followed by Winter and Iko. Thorne glanced towards Cress. The corner of his lips curved up with admiration.
Jacin frowned. “That’s not what I-"
"Here we are!” Wolf called, entering the room. Steam clouded his face, as he planted the sizzling turkey onto the table.
The crew exchanged looks.
The turkey was covered with cooked tomato slices.
“It looks delicious, Wolf!” Winter chimed.
A chorus of agreement rang amongst the crew. Wolf’s chest puffed out with pride. Scarlet smiled widely.
“Let’s tuck in! I’m starving!” Thorne held his knife and fork ready, licking his lips.
“Before we eat, I just wanted to make a toast,” Wolf replied.
The crew grew silent and attentive.
Wolf cleared his throat.
“Back home in Luna, we never celebreated Christmas, but i can see why people enjoy this tradition. It gives us a chance to appreciate those we love in the most beautiful way possible. I’m not sure if i’ve said this enough, but I am grateful to have met you all, despite the circumstances.”
“You and me both,” Kai agreed, laughing.
Wolf grinned. He cupped a hand on Scarlet’s cheek, to which she nuzzled against it.
“I don’t know what I would have done, especially without you, Scarlet,” Wolf held up his glass, “Here’s a toast, to family."
"To family!” The crew cheered, holding their glasses up.
As they drank, Wolf began to carve the turkey and distributed the slices and dishes around the table.
Scarlet sat back in her chair, watching the other crew members.
Cinder and Kai held each other’s hands, using their free hands to eat the nachos.
Thorne and Cress shared a spaghetti strand, eating away at their ends until they touched each other’s lips.
Winter giggled with Iko, cutting at her slice of pizza while Jacin watched her, a warm smile on his face.
Scarlet’s heart warmed at the sight. For a while, it was hard losing her grandmother. There was a time she thought she would be content with being alone; her father was hardly an option. But she hadn’t realised how much she wanted a family like this. If she hadn’t met Wolf or the others, Christmas would have been a different story. Just the thought of celebrating it alone constricted her heart.
Scarlet turned to Wolf, whose mouth was full of food. She threw back her head with laughter and pressed a kiss against his bloated cheek. She turned back to the feast before her.
As promised I’ve started the fic that goes with your art, but I’m afraid I don’t have the time to write everything down I’d want to write down. So, until the main gift is posted, here are some headcanons that may or may not have made it into the fic:
Up until Cinder got her letter from Hogwarts she didn’t even know she had magic. She lived under a staircase in a house with her stepmother and stepsisters. But she realizes now that maybe her reputation that she can repair everything that’s broken comes from her magic.
The crown prince of England, Kai, who is a muggle and knows nothing of the Wizardy world, heard about her skills and sought her help when he broke the very new playstation his father had given him. It was love at first sight.
When Thorne was sorted, the sorting head was doubting between Slytherin and Gryffindor. It was Thorne himself who kept on insisting that putting him in Gryffindor would be a big mistake. (And he couldn’t be more wrong)
Winter spent her life under the watchful eye of nurses and doctors and had learned at a very young age to hide her visions.
But she never could hide them from Jacin, her childhood friend and a muggle. Even though he doesn’t understand where her visions come from, he’s never judged her. Instead, he told her he loved her in the summer before her fourth year, which made leaving him behind even harder.
Wolf is a werewolf and therefore not allowed at Hogwarts, but he and Scarlet ran into each other when she was visiting the nearby town and ever since Scarlet has been sneaking in and out to see him. And the other way round.
Scarlet never leaves before she knows that Winter is taken care of.
Cress is the one making sure that no one of the crew ever fails a class. She makes the best notes AND adds details not even her teachers know and hands them out to her friends. She’s also the one who developed maps of the secret hallways and cloaks her friends whenever she needs to. She’s the reason that Scarlet and Wolf have never been caught.
Thorne still thinks that Cress is made of porcelain and refuses to leave her side, even during dinner and lunch. Scarlet is the only one who can pull him away from the Ravenclaw table.
Hi @highladymagnus! This is your Secret santa. I finally finished the Jacinter fic I had planned! Sorry for the wait. Hope you like it!
Also, make sure to enable anonymous asks so I can message you! 😊
————————————————————————–
“I am not wearing that,” Jacin grumbled, as Winter held up a red, woolly Christmas sweater.
Across the front, were the words ‘Lunar Scrooge’. A shady template flickered in the middle. But was soon replaced with Jacin’s face. He wore a deep scowl, pronounced more by the crow’s feet at his eyes, the pipe in his mouth and the top hat on his head.
Winter and Jacin had gone shopping at the first Lunar store opened in L.A., called ‘Lunarified’. It was the one thing Iko had hyped about visiting. Apparently, the Lunar owner had found a way to incorporate glamour into their clothing, so it could be personalised on the spot. With the crew’s current ‘Best Christmas Sweater contest’, it was the perfect chance to check out the store.
Winter surpressed her grin.
“Why not? It's so your colour. And I may not know who Scrooge is, but he sounds like you on a normal day,” Winter teased.
A smile tugged at his lips.
“Well, that’s not entirely true. I’m not a Scrooge to everyone,” he corrected. He snuck closer to Winter and wrapped his arms around her waist. Winter giggled as Jacin slanted his head towards hers. Only to be interrupted by another sweater.
“How about this one?” Winter asked, holding the sweater closer to his face.
This time, the sweater was purple, with the words, 'Kiss the Santa’. They watched as Jacin’s face plumped up and a huge, white beard hid his chin.
Jacin dragged the sweater down, a grimace on his face.
“This is even worse.“
Winter laughed at his disgusted expression.
“Come on, Jacin. Get in with the 'Christmas spirit’, as the Earthens say. Beside, I would kiss you if you were Santa.” Winter winked.
Jacin pulled a one-sided grin. He turned his attention back to the rack of sweaters.
“How about this one?"
Jacin held up a pastel blue one. It read, 'It’s beginning to look a lot like Luna’ on the top. Underneath, both Winter and Jacin appeared in the picture, their arms intertwined as they looked up at the moon in the night sky. The snow activated and fell on the couple.
Winter’s eyes teared up.
"It’s so beautiful,” Winter whispered.
“It is."
Winter glanced at Jacin. Her heart warmed at his proud smile.
Shaking away her tears, Winter grabbed hold of the blue sweater and bundled the previous sweaters into Jacin’s arms.
"Try these on! You get to pick one, but if you don’t, I’m getting both!”
Jacin’s mouth faltered with protest, but Winter spun him around and pushed him in the direction towards the fitting rooms.
With a groan, Jacin dragged his feet to the cubicles.
Winter turned back to the sweaters, humming to herself. Her mind revered back to Luna. To her people. It had taken some time adjusting to life away from home. And whilst she loved Christmas time on Earth, she missed Luna. If there were any good memories she had at the Artemisia palace, it was with her father and Jacin. They brought life to a place too cold to survive in.
Suddenly, her humming was interrupted by a tap on her shoulder. Startled, she turned around to find a tall, black man. He wore a grey, pristine, tailor-made suit, with crescent moons as his cufflinks. He outstretched his hand.
“Miss Winter Hayle-Blackburn! It is an honour to meet you. I’m Xavier Javal, the owner of this establishment."
Winter shook his hand.
"It’s a honour for me. It’s always inspiring to see someone with the courage to bring the sparkle of Luna to Earth. It reminds me very much of home,” Winter praised, a small smile on her face.
Xavier pulled a knowing look.
“You are too kind, Miss Blackburn. I would not be here if it was not for you and the others.” Xavier wrung his hands, an uncomfortable look crossing his face.
“I hope you do not mind me asking, but I need your help. A model of mine, who was supposed to showcase my 'Santa Baby’ designs, called in sick. I have tried to get a replacement, but to no avail. It has been hard keeping this place afloat with all the prejudice against Lunars. I thought… If it’s possible you could…"
Winter pondered at the words 'Santa Baby’. She had heard its reference, but couldn’t bring it to the surface of her mind. Surely, they wouldn’t dress as babies? Winter thought. But she found the image hilarious. As she digested Xavier’s words fully, her smile faded.
"I’m so sorry, Xavier, but I have no clue about modelling-”
“Honestly, all you would have to do is stand on one of the podiums. The designs will speak for themselves. I will make it worthwhile,” Xavier urged.
Winter brushed a hand through her curls, growing a bit insecure. But she couldn’t see him in distress.
“Where do I change?"
—————————————————————————
"Ok, you’re right. These sweaters have some charm to them…” Jacin trailed off as he stepped out of the cubicle. Winter was nowhere to be seen.
Jacin’s heartbeat spiked.
“Winter? Winter!"
Jacin raced around the store, searching.
He froze when he heard a chorus of cheers near the entrance. Following the sound, Jacin meandered around one of the racks, entering the crowd.
His jaw dropped as he stared at the five women on their individual podiums.
Standing on the middle podium, was Winter. She wore a red, shiny dress, that fell slightly off her shoulders and stopped mid thigh. White wool was stitched along the neckline, helm and the sleeves. Black, silky gloves adorned her hands and arms and black boots trailed up to her knees. A santa hat rested on top of her curls.
Jacin’s mouth opened and closed, his cheeks flustered. He watched as Winter tugged at her dress, a nervous smile on her face. Her eyes searched the crowd, landing on his.
Her smile widened, but disappeared momentarily. She blushed, staring down at her dress.
Jacin pulled a teasing smile and winked at her. He mouthed the words 'You look beautiful’ at her.
Winter's face glowed. She held her head high and placed a hand on her hip. She shone her winning smile.
With her confidence, her dress shone different colours and altered from snowflakes to candy cane patterns, making her radiant.
The crowd cheered louder, hooting and clapping. Jacin nodded with pride at his girlfriend.
—————————————————————————
After the crowd dispersed, Xavier Javal was all smiles. He rewarded her by giving her the sweaters for free. Also, she was now a valued customer of 'Lunarified’, with the best discounts. She couldn’t wait to tell Iko.
As she exited the cubicle, she found Jacin waiting outside.
Winter snorted, as her eyes fell on his 'Kiss the Santa’ sweater.
"I thought you despised that?”
Jacin shrugged.
“Well, after the outfit you pulled, I guess I’m yours to command,” Jacin replied, drawing closer to her.
Winter’s blush deepened.
“Speaking of that outfit, did you… Um … Did Xavier let you…”
“Keep it?” Winter finished.
Jacin’s cheeks reddened.
“No, I gave it back. The material was too itchy."
Jacin nodded, scratching the nape of his neck. Winter cooed at him. She planted a kiss on his lips and squeezed his cheeks.
"We better get back home."
As they walked towards the entrance, Winter peaked into her bag, finding the 'Santa Baby’ costume inside. She spared a glance at Jacin’s oblivious look, smiling secretively to herself.

Hey Hoi! So far I've only read the first two books. I'm totally planning on reading the others, but can't promise when. Could I still participate? Because, I'd totally love that! :D
yes, u can! even though it’s “tlc” secret santa, feel free to branch out or improvise if you’re not that familiar with the series. the more the merrier ;)
plus, when I match up the santas, I also base them off of common interests (which aren’t necessarily tlc based), so you should be fine either way :)
