‘Euphoria’: Algee Smith & Austin Abrams Cast In HBO Teen Drama Series

Algee Smith (The New Edition Story) and Austin Abrams (The Walking Dead) have joined the cast of Euphoria, HBO’s teen drama starring Zendaya and written by The Wizard of Lies scribe Sam Levin…

Algee Smith (The New Edition Story) and Austin Abrams (The Walking Dead) have joined the cast of Euphoria, HBO’s teen drama starring Zendaya and written by The Wizard of Lies scribe Sam Levinson, with Drake and Future the Prince executive producing.

In a recasting, Smith will play McKay, believed to be a series regular role. He replaces Brian “Astro” Bradley, who played the part in the pilot. Abrams will portray Ethan.

Euphoria, based on the Israeli series from HOT, follows a group of high school students as they navigate drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship. Zendaya leads the cast that also includes Storm Reid, Maude Apatow, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Hunter Schafer and Sydney Sweeney.

'Famous in Love's' Keith Powers Joins Renee Zellweger in Netflix Anthology 'What/If'

Samantha Ware, Juan Castano and Saamer Usmani have also joined the cast, which includes Jane Levy and Blake Jenner.

Netflix's Renee Zellweger-led anthology What/If is rounding out its cast.

Famous in Love breakout Keith Powers has joined the drama. Samantha Ware (Glee), Juan Castano (Transfers) and Saamer Usmani (Reign) have also boarded the series, which co-stars Jane Levy (Castle Rock) and Blake Jenner (Glee).

The 10-episode What/If is described as a social thriller exploring the ripple effects when acceptable people start doing unacceptable things. The first season revolves around newlyweds who accept a dangerous proposition.
