“Well, I’m dumb but I’m not an idiot.” Not even aware that the statement contradicted itself, Ellis kept moving towards the elevator as she took a look around. “My parents and I don’t get along very well so I have no issues in spending their money. They’re actually kind of dicks, to be honest. They think I’m going to screw up everything they do for me and…well I guess that’s been true most of my life but they don’t help with their judgments and shit.” Holding the elevator open for the girl, he shrugged softly. “Me? On Jeopardy? Nah, those questions are hard. Besides, I have to be here in case the crazy lady living in my apartment goes into labor with what she calls my demon spawn.”
Toby laughed softly at his comment, before she took a place in the elevator next to him, oxygen tank and all, “I’m sorry your parents feel the way they do. My mom’s like super overprotective. My dad tries to get her to lighten up some, but it doesn’t really work. My brothers are just as bad though. They think I’m super fragile, like china or something, and that I’m going to break. I don’t break. I just cough...a lot.” She sighed at the thought of what they would say if she came home high, and honestly, she was looking forward to it, “Jeopardy’s not that hard if you just study and have a good strategy.” She winked at him, Toby liked trivia, but even she had to admit, Jeopardy could be hard at times. It was his statement that had changed the subject though, “Demon...spawn?”
