Sometimes we watch other movies too, it just depends on the day. After some good and some bad, we’ve decided to record us discussing each of these films and either convince you or warn you when it comes to watching. Follow along as we (Ashley @ash5monster01, Bea @toindeedbe, Chloe @octaviasdread, and Sunny @theluminoussunflower) desperately try to explain the plots of some of the most random movies you have ever seen.

As a note, the name After Dark is the name of the Discord server we all met in, created for people over the age of 18. if you ever wonder why your fandom is "dying" it's genuinely because people aren't talking to one another or interacting with people who aren't just their mutuals. i know i'm not perfect at this either, but as a writer, it is genuinely discouraging when i don't get any meaningful interaction from people within a fandom. and don't tell me "just write for yourself! do what makes you happy!" what makes me happy is putting time and effort into something i care about and people telling me it was worth it. you'd never tell an accountant to just do taxes for fun. you'd never tell a scientist to do studies but never get published. you'd never tell a doctor to not worry if they have no recurring patients. so don't tell artists / writers / creators that they shouldn't care if they don't have an audience. it's fine if they don't care about that, but i do. i do care about people knowing that i exist.

Sunny is one of the greatest writers (and people) I know— I know we both feel the same way when I beg of you to please!!! Interact!! With!!! Artists!!!

It’s not greedy to say that as writers (or artists in general) we thrive on feedback! We don’t know how people feel about our work if they don’t tell us. It’s so easy to be discouraged when your work sits there dormant. It’s so easy to assume that it’s Bad because people aren’t interacting with it in a meaningful way. Like yes, all interaction is good interaction, but there’s so much room for interpretation if it’s incredibly vague!!

If you like something, let the creator know! That way we can improve and keep giving you all the lovely content you want!

a really dramatic post about how i haven't been posting fanfiction lol

there isn't any big reason, just that since i finished my degree i've been pretty depressed and job hunting which makes me more depressed and i've had a hard time finding inspiration for writing all together if i'm honest and when i do find it, it kinda just fades off, no matter how often i try to get myself to work on it.

so what i'm going to do instead is post the stuff i have been writing, the unfinished drafts where there are random [stuff happens here] gaps. and hopefully if you all see them, i can get some super sexy feedback from y'all, which you are not obligated to do by any means <3

these are the google docs. if you would like to comment on them, please don't be afraid to. i'm literally on my hands and knees begging for you to point out what you like / don't like. if you want to leave an ask instead of commenting on the doc, that's great. i genuinely don't care, but i can't let these just sit in my google drive any more and i've forced my friends to look at all of them repeatedly.

maybe with that feedback, i can finally finish what i started and post them, then i can move on to other stuff. i might update this later on with future wips if this proves to be an effective strategy.

Last Movie: The Young Girls of Rochefort (1967)! It was a rewatch because I wanted to make my friend experience the film and it was my turn for movie night. Anyway I recommend it if you like musicals :)

Last TV Show: I binge watched season 3 of The Bear at the beginning of the month! (Let’s ignore me watching Squid Game 2 for yaoi just to find out there wasn’t any)

Sweet/Spicy/Savory: Love all of these, but spicy is my fav! I’m always finding a way to make my food spicier because I love the pain I guess lmao
