Image is a tweet from Feb 3, 2021 by @aardvarkwizard that reads, âhomeless people in your neighborhood are your neighbors.â
Destroy the myth that libraries are no longer relevant. If you use your library, please reblog.
When cats lie on their backs and look at you upside down with their little vampire tooth sticking out reblog if you agree
One of my favorite things about kittens, and stop me if I've talked about this before, is that they just have no concept of how long a meow is. They just scream with their whole little body and that scream goes on and on and on. It never ends. An entire epoch in the length of a kitten scream. Kingdoms rise and fall and a kitten is still screaming. Where do they store the air? Where does it come from? They're so tiny and their meows are so big.
âIâm almost 50, and here is the best thing I have learned so far: every strange thing youâve ever been into, every failed hobby or forgotten instrument, everything you have ever learned will come back to you, will serve you when you need it. No love, however brief, is wasted.â @louisethebaker on Twitter

There are no rules on when to be productive.
If you cannot function in the morning
You can do your work, homework, chores, etc. at 3am
You can go grocery shopping at 11:29pm on a thursday
You can shower, make your bed, brush your teeth at 3pm
You can write an essay in your bed at 9pm and go to bed at 1am
Don't force yourself to wake up at 5am to be productive and then think the day's ruined when you wake at noon
Doing something in a weird way is still doing something
my goal is to be happy and enjoy life. literally. i do not have these grandiose career aspirations, but rather to simply not worry about money. itâs okay to not have these big massive goals that youâre pushed to strive for by the media and the society we live in. itâs okay to just want to enjoy the life you live - sometimes thatâs one of the hardest goals to achieve! but it is the the most important. remember that!

if you want to actually start to end homelessness, you need to give homeless people unconditional homes, including when we use them to do drugs or sit around drinking. either housing is unconditional or it isnât
someone sitting at home alone, an active alcoholic, squandering your charity, drinking all day is better situation than a street homeless alcoholic. someone using drugs in your charity house is better than them doing the same w no shelter
most of you would not like most street homeless people, I definitely donât and didnât when I was street homeless. for every one person who uses unconditional shelter to turn themselves around, someone else will do jack shit and very slowly, if ever, work through the issues that made them homeless, will maybe never be able to live independently. still better than street homelessness, still worth doing. ultimately either you believe that shelter should be universal or you donât
homeless people actually canât be rehabilitated if you want to end homelessness. we either affirm the right to shelter for the worst drunken, lying, filthy, cheating, self destructive homeless people that exist, genuinely irredeemable wankers, or we concede that shelter is not a right
This post is the distilled essence of everything I believe in.
I hope dark skinned women, especially the ones who are having trouble loving themselves, have an amazing day today.
Thereâs a reason a sewing kit includes scissors, a wood shop has a saw, and a kitchen is full of knives. In order to build something, to create something on purpose, you have to be prepared to cut away whatâs extra. A bolt of cloth does not a blanket make, a piece of wood a shelf, nor a loaf of bread a sandwich. When you snip off frayed bits of string, cut the wood into shape, or slice the end off a loaf of bread you are creating, with the act of removal, something closer to what you desire.Â
Now letâs say youâre not sewing a blanket, youâre not building a shelf, not making a sandwich. Letâs say youâre crafting a life in which you are happy. You will end up removing things. Youâll leave partners, stop talking to family members, let go of friends. Youâll move apartments, lose jobs, change wardrobes. And you will feel their absence. Youâll look at the scraps of cloth, the odd angles of wood, the stale end of the loaf. But that cloth couldnât keep you warm and that tiny corner of wood canât store books. You wouldnât be full from that little bit of bread or happy with that person. In the art of creating there is the act of removal and it is essential.Â
Giving homeless people MONEY instead of FOOD can save their lives this winter, shelters cost money, being able to sit in McDonaldâs and nurse a coke for a couple hours to warm up costs money, often accessing public toilets (whether itâs to use them, wash up or just to be out of the wind) costs money.Â
Just give homeless people cash, just do it, no excuses, no whining about âenabling their drug habitsâ, if you have money to spare, give it and possibly save someone from literally freezing to death.Â
Bringing this back cause this heat can kill you, giving money is always in season
