Shinsei Sentai Ryuseiger Season 1, Episode 1
Episode 1: A New Star is Born!
Looks like GIGA's next YouTube series will be Shinsei Sentai Ryuseiger!
I was wondering if they were going to make a Ryuseiger series. I'm not sure how I feel about Ryusei Blue being male when they've always been female before.
Bellestar from The Kagestar (1976).
Thats the clearest picture I could find of Tomoko. There are a few other promotional pictures, but they are in a much lower quality.
I think this picture was cropped from a magazine scan, but I don't have the full image. (You know exactly why someone cropped it.)
Ambassador Magma (1966).
Battle Hawk (1976).
I wish I had better pictures of the proto suits. Most of the other pictures I can find are not good quality.
Even when you're gone
We'll always remember the legacy you created

Love how they film on location instead of a green screen.
sometimes the way kamen rider episodes are edit makes it look like shitpost (affectionate)
I made these fake magazine covers a few years ago, so I thought I'd show them. Click for full sizes.
I'm re-blogging these, because I'm thinking about making more of them and I want other people's opinions. I'm really proud of how these turned out. I feel like my editing skills have gotten better in the past few years, and I want to do something creative again.
Should I make more?
Dark King.
I thought it would be funny to include the version from the Chaiyo Hanuman movie, but I couldn't find a good enough picture.
I literally just found out about this a few minutes ago. A few days ago, the 45th episode of Ultra Fight was unearthed. Apparently, this was lost media until now.
If you didn't know Ultra Fight is an Ultraman spinoff program that featured Ultraman and Ultraseven fighting monsters with a sports-style play-by-play commentary. They used clips from both Ultraman and Ultraseven, in addition to filming new fights.
The 45th episode used clips from the banned 12th episode of Ultraseven. After it was banned, so was this.
I find it kind of funny that this pops up only a few months after an HD copy of the banned episode leaked online.
You know, someone could possibly restore the segment with the HD footage. They would really need to clean up the audio track, though.
Video was originally posted by @part329310623 on Twitter, but I had repost the video here to get it to play.
why watch big budget hollywood action movies when you can just watch japanese children’s shows
Crazy how much of that was just one, continuous shot.
#the state of western action films is just embarrassing #bourne has a lot to answer for
Man, the TV critics all lost their shit over Mr. Robot’s uber-prestige Sam Esmail gimmick episodes, but meanwhile sentai can just do this, no prestige needed. See also: One Cut of the Dead.
Also the way they didn’t even bother justifying or disguising the safety crash pad is admirable. More shows should do that.
Also, props to them for making everyone look competent. Yeah, it’s clear that the heroes would wipe the floor with any of the villains in a one-on-one fight, but the villains aren’t actually trying to defeat them: they dramatically outnumber the heroes, and all they need to do (apparently) is for one of them to get away with the MacGuffin, and that’s a much more tenable goal. Having the extended action sequence also be an intense game of keep-away makes it much more interesting than your typical “everyone beats each other up” fight
Showa Era Super Sentai.
This is a reupload. The name tags on some of the yellow rangers didn't look readable enough to me, so I redid them. I don't know why I thought it was a good idea to put white text on yellow background. They look better at full size.

I would have posted this months ago after Shida was cast, but we didn't know how many episodes we had left.
