Early wattpad g/t was definitely something else but I do think it was stunning for introducing me to “borrower caught in glue trap” as well as “giant-human-mixed-sized-schools” and “little one x100” and “tiny sleeping on giant’s chest with hand cupped over them” and “tiny being locked in a drawer with a huff” etc etc etc. because omg those tropes were so overused like they’d be in EVERY SINGLE FIC but wow I was devouring them.

Hear me out:

Giant Merman + Thalassophobia human.

The human somehow makes their way out into sea— and with all their fear meets something they feared of being in this sea. A mer— bigger than the boat itself! It circles the boat, intrigued with it. Before seeing the human— which it finds even more intriguing.

Imagine a “stoic” mer easily impressed by the littlest human. And going all doggy curious with them as the human is having a heart attack on the boat from the utter fear they are experiencing.

Human: *high-pitched screams of terror*

Mer: Cute.
