For the love of God, don't wear your fursuits to a tiny, packed-ass theater and then stand at the front and block people's view. I dont care if you think you're short enough to make it work, your ears are HUGE and you're endangering yourself and others.
The Howard Theater was absolutely PACKED last night. I don't know if they oversold or what, but it was packed to the brim. It was stuffy and humid and people kept crushing against each other and backing away--even to the middle wall where I was.
People in general lacked etiquette, maybe partially because of a lack of dress code. Tall people with big hair wearing hats standing 2 inches from others. 2 big-ass fursuits at the front. People sitting down on the floor. It was hard to move. God forbid you have to go to the bathroom--or worse, if an emergency occurred.
The fursuit thing in particular is a hazard. Not just a vision killer to others, but a health hazard to yourself. Again, the venue was tiny and packed and humid. I wouldn't be surprised if they accidentally punched somebody while dancing because they couldn't see around them. I also never saw them hydrate, which is very dangerous. If they pass out, they're taking other people down with them, and with such a crowd, the paramedics are going to have a hard time getting to you.
You do not NEED to wear your fursuit to a concert. Especially not a small venue. Even though Will has a song called "Main Character," I do NOT in fact have to like you. ๐ And if you MUST for some reason wear your suit, please don't stand at the front where you can't see your surroundings. Stand against a wall or somewhere with easy access to water. Hydrate frequently and have a fan going.
I don't know why you would intentionally block your own vision and hearing with the suit, but if you feel you must... don't impede others as well.

There were other issues with lack of etiquette, but it was still a good show despite not being able to see the stage. The audio was great. The vibes were great. The outfits were great. People had amazing energy! I loved how everyone knew the words and were clapping and waving and jumping where they could. The conga line was cool. Apparently there was a mosh pit, which is pretty awesome too.
I had a good time with my friend and his partner, but I'm glad I didn't need to use the bathroom or get a drink at any time, bc I never would have been able to get back to them! The crowd was crazy. I genuinely wonder if the venue was oversold or something, despite the show not selling out to my knowledge. When I saw the line, I didn't think there was any way all those people would fit in that small building! ...and they did, but at the cost of breathability.

Do not think for a moment that this admin is only going after trans folks. They are ultimately going after the whole LGBTQ community. They start small, like getting rid of a hotline option, then go BIG.
I've seen some comics/memes by conservative types that portray the auto-delete function in the Trevor Project's texts and chats as some nefarious proof of sexual grooming or some other kind of indoctrination, so I wouldn't be surprised if that is at least one of the justifications.
