i’ve seen this user post this photo as a sort of reaction image a couple times now and it makes me laugh every time. because this is the incredibly elusive marbled cat and they really do just have a tendency to look so pitiful, guilty, and empty in the head. so here’s some more photos of them looking like there’s just one marble bouncing around their skull:

MAGA boomers SHOCKED by 20y/o commie speaking fluent hog
Hog 201 for anyone interested in trying this:
Bodily autonomy (like abortion, anti draft, etc) -> “The government shouldn’t be able to force anything on my body I don’t want.”
Anti surveillance -> “I don’t trust big government/big tech (big brother if you’re feeling frisky) with the ability to spy on me and my family.”
Immigration -> “Next to all of us immigrated at some point, I don’t see why the elites get to decide who’s allowed to be where. What’s to stop them coming for me?”
Climate Change -> “Big oil shouldn’t get to determine whether or not I get to go places. I don’t want to be dependent on some big business to survive.”
State Violence -> “I don’t want the goddamn secret police breathing down my neck! I trust my community a whole hell of a lot more to help me than I do the state!”
The vast majority of conservatives think of themselves as underdogs being repressed by the government/the elite, and they value personal freedom (specifically their personal freedom, they don’t care about other people). The will almost always agree with leftist points if you can find a way to blame the problem on their vague enemies (useful, since rich people are the root of most problems), and tie it back to their ability to say fuck everyone else. NEVER appeal to science, theory, logic, or human goodness. Make it seem as if you are a paranoid lunatic who trusts no one. They love it.
#you need to tailor your arguments to people's existing values and priorities if you want to convince them #the flip side is that it's every bit as easy to tailor conservative arguments to convince a leftist audience #so don't get smug #you're not immune to this either <- prev extremely true
Several years ago I briefly worked in the warehouse of a nondescript extremely large e-commerce company. I had no other options for employment but desperately needed money. Turnover was like 150%. I worked from something like 7pm to 5am, my commute was 50 minutes each way and before I got paid I didn’t even have the cash for enough gas to get home one night and had to bum $10 off of my kid sibling (this is all to give you an idea of my abysmal mental state while employed here.) You’re not allowed to do anything besides your job, no music or anything and they track your movement on cameras so you can’t even take a breather. The job is real monotonous, you get sent boxes of items of random sizes and you have to put the items into shelves of varying sizes and the shelves come to you, you don’t walk to them. Because the company tracks the rate at which you put items on these shelves, many small items are desirable because you can put a lot of them in quickly. Everything about the place seems almost designed intentionally to break you mentally and turn you into a robot. So I’m about 6 or 7 hours into my shift, feeling on the verge of a mental collapse, and up comes a container with a bunch of small white boxes, bout half the size of a deck of cards. No labels. Great, I’m already happy about whatever these things are. So I go to scan them in, and it gives you the name of the item and a little picture. Sasuke Penis Costume. What? Sasuke Penis Costume. A picture of that red cloud robe from Naruto and one of the headbands with the metal plate on it. I’m thinking, there’s no way. What is a penis costume? Am I hallucinating this? And there’s so many of them, literally about a hundred, and I know I’m going to be spending at least an hour with Sasuke Penis Costume, there’s so many and they’re so small, I’m already excited about the potential efficiency of these, and then I see it’s Sasuke Penis Costume? So the entire shift I’m like, trying to not put these things away too quick, because honestly I’m starting to build a kind of kinship with them. This is quite literally the most exciting thing to happen to me during my whole 2 week employment at the warehouse. I started to see Sasuke Penis Costume as a friend, some reminder of the outside world, a reminder of the humanity I was becoming so unfamiliar with, a reminder the world contained comedy, art, anime, and penis. I really couldn’t tell you if I ended up putting all of them away, the last thing I remember is my desperate need to look these items up when I got home. I needed a link to send to my friends for when I told them this riveting story. I learned that the costume is called the Akatsuki cloak in my fervent search for the item, and wouldn’t you know it, absolutely zero trace of these things exists online. Not on the e-commerce website, not on any specialized penis-costume websites (whose existence I was not privvy to prior to this incident) and no third-party retailer has these. Not even Google images will show me the hypothetical existence of Sasuke Penis Costume. Every few months I look it up, trying to find evidence that it can be bought, that any of this was ever real. My bond, my friendship, and dare I say even love for Sasuke Penis Costume feels as tangible as the boxes they came in, and yet the universe will give me no closure of their fate. Less and less frequently I search for them, each time becoming more and more discouraged that I will ever find them, but unlike their substance on this earth, one thing is inarguably certain. Sasuke Penis Costume exists to me, and it will live on firmly and resolutely within my memory and within my heart.
OP was it this?
WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS @beemovieerotica
akatsuki robe for a 1/12 scale figurine, about 15 cm, fits a large penis or a small sasuke
I’m wondering if there is any language in which “uchida” or a similar word translates to penis because that would make a lot of sense
It’s probably “chinchin” (ちんちん) which I could see being a typo for Uchiha (うちは).

“No blanket?” asked Nightwing, frowning as he glanced down at the bedroll that had just been assigned to him. Clark winced a little and gave him what he hoped was a conciliatory smile. The bedrolls really weren’t more than a glorified cushion, and he knew from experience that they were not comfortable. Unfortunately, they were kinda all they had at this point because no one had planned to be on this ship for more than six hours.
There was some kind of skirmish between two planets that blocked the normal travel routes, and the Lantern Corps was redirecting traffic. Apparently, this was turning into a logistical nightmare, and Hal had been on the phone for nearly two hours. Clark guessed being a space cop also meant having to do space traffic duty, and he did not envy the Lantern. Regardless, their small rescue mission into space was now a multiday journey on a ship that really wasn’t built for it.
It wasn’t exactly the best way to introduce their new recruit, Nightwing, to the Justice League, but Clark really didn’t have a choice in the matter.
“Sorry about that,” he said. “I promise that usually we are more prepared, and this is a one-off. We should be back to the Watchtower by morning, though.”
Nightwing shrugged. “Don’t worry. This won’t be the worst place I’ve slept, but I’ll definitely be missing my cape.”
Clark didn’t know what that meant because he really didn’t know anything about Bludhaven’s elusive vigilante at all. His past was a black hole and, despite multiple questions to Batman about him, the League database remained bare on his history.
So Clark did whatever he did when someone said something confusing, but he didn’t want to make the situation weird - he smiled and lightly said “I hear ya’”.
Nightwing, sensing the conversation was at an end, stepped back and let the hero take their bedroll from Clark.
Out of the corner of his eye, Clark saw Nightwing turn and take stock of the heroes that were all starting to settle on the space ship’s floor.
He winced to himself. Of course, Nightwing wouldn’t know where to go. He didn’t know anyone on this ship and was probably feeling like the new kid at camp, awkwardly standing to the side as all the other kids grouped up with the people they already knew. Clark knew that feeling. He had been that kid multiple times before and hated the rejected loneliness that had always settled into the pit of his stomach. He also remembered all those times when he had just wished for someone to please reach out.
He opened his mouth, just about to tell Nightwing that he could sleep near Clark, but before he did, he saw the younger hero perk up.
He followed Nightwing’s gaze (only a little difficult with the domino mask) and could have sworn Nightwing was looking at Batman.
Then, even more shockingly, the young man, began trotting off in Batman’s direction, piercing the little bubble of isolation that the veteran hero always seemed to command.
“Woah,” Hal said from Clark’s left. He was apparently done with his space phone call and looked more tired from that than the mission that had led to all this. “That’s kinda ballsy.”
They watched as Nightwing, not only barrelled right through Batman’s ever-present distance of respect, but also smacked his bedroll down right next to Batman’s, leaving no space between them.
“Do they know each other?” asked Hal, face scrunching in confusion. Young heroes were always too scared to even talk to Batman, let alone walk right up to him and ask to be bed buddies.
Did they know each other? Clark questioned to himself. In the process of recruiting Nightwing, Batman hadn’t hinted at knowing Nightwing as more than a distant coworker in a different city. He assessed the young man’s capabilities and described a few brief interactions with him to coordinate intercity operations between Gotham and Bludhaven, but nothing more than that. He spoke of the vigilante frankly and brusquely, as he did with every topic. Surely, Batman would have mentioned knowing him as a friend in the recruiting process.
“They have to know each other,” said Hal, watching as Batman turned in his bedroll to give Nightwing a glare that was withering, even through the cowl. The look seemed to roll right off of Nightwing, though, who just plopped down and began talking.
So, even though Clark knew it was rude and Ma would smack him with a dishtowel if she had been here, Clark listened in.
“What are you doing?” Batman’s rich, rolling voice was the first thing Clark heard, and it sent a little shiver down Clark’s spine.
“What does it look like I’m doing?” shot back Nightwing as he tried to make the bedroll even marginally more comfortable.
Batman remained quiet, a move that probably would have made any other young hero want to shrivel up and die, but Nightwing was somehow immune and just kept talking.
“We’re having a sleepover.”
“Are we?” said Batman, and, even more miraculously, there was something that sounded a whole lot like affection and maybe a little teasing in his tone.
It made Clark’s heart pause for just a brief moment in his chest. It also made him want to sink into the floor. In all these years of being on the League, he had never once heard Batman use that tone. Now, there was this… kid that was drawing it out of him in less than ten words?
Suddenly, he looked at Nightwing in a way he had never looked before.
Objectively, he knew the young hero was good-looking even through the domino mask. He had a sharp jaw and an absolutely infectious smile. He also wore a skin-tight suit that left absolutely nothing to the imagination, and many times, he had caught some of the younger heroes taking a certain appreciation about that fact.
The thing was, it was always the younger heroes. He didn’t know Nightwing’s exact age, but he had to be a good fifteen to twenty years younger than Clark, which meant he was probably also about fifteen years younger than Batman.
Is… it that what Batman liked?
Clark felt an ugly twist in his gut. Batman had never shown any interest in any of the younger heroes, but he hadn’t shown any interest in anyone on the Watchtower. At all. Clark knew that fact very, very well.
But Batman wasn’t pulling away as Nightwing sidled closer, hand going underneath Batman’s cape. He didn’t tell the younger hero to stop it as the man pulled on it.
Clark told himself that the sick feeling in his stomach was just there because of the thought of dating someone fifteen years younger than him. He did not call it jealousy.
“Nightwing,” Batman’s voice filled Clark’s entire brain. He sounded just a little bit disapproving, but not enough to stop it.
“Share with me.”
“Ah,” Clark wanted to scream at how warm Batman sounded. “Now I see.”
Nightwing tugged at the cape harder, and Batman chuckled, a sound that Clark literally didn’t know Batman could make and made him absolutely weak in the knees like a little schoolgirl.
“Brat,” said Batman, affection so clear now that Clark didn’t want to think of him sounding like anything else.
Batman turned in his bedroll and unclipped the cape from his shoulders. He turned back to the younger hero and shifted closer to him. Then, he spread out the cape between them, covering both of their bodies under the dark fabric.
Nightwing gave a pleased sigh and then turned to whisper something to Batman, and that’s when Clark stopped listening.
It felt too intimate now. Now with both of them curled together in the same bed, breathing the same air in the same space.
“I guess Bats likes them young,” said Hal, his gaze sharp and with a small frown. Clark tried to mirror it even though his emotions were a storm inside him.
“Guess so,” he said, trying to be so casual. So so casual. So casual and not even thinking about what they could be doing in the corner.
Quietly, he grabbed his own bedroll and went to the furthest corner away from Batman, hoping the distance would ease the sick feeling in his stomach.
Time to FROLIC!

tumblr users, overall, have low financial literacy. and like, I get it. it’s not shocking that a majority user base of chronically broke-adjacent people are intimidated by and/or think it’s useless to learn about financial systems. I’m not surprised by this. but I do think it’s really really important to have an understanding of business and financial concepts, even when it’s dense and scary, because it’s fundamental to how the modern world works. this post is inspired by the notes on this post about the idea of bankification and is for an american audience.
when you deposit a paycheck in a traditional bank account, you go online and see the number in your balance. to you, it looks like there is a single account that quarantines your money away from everybody else’s. you may think that when you deposit money in the bank, the bank is just holding that money for you, but actually, by depositing money is a bank, you are lending the bank company your money.
a bank company’s core function is to make money by bundling together the deposits that many customers have lent it, and investing that money in the stock market. the bank’s investments earn interest, which is the bank’s profit. if you have a savings account, you’re essentially telling the bank “hey, I plan to have this money sitting here for a while without drawing on it.” a savings account is a more stable investment base than a checking account for the bank, which is why the company incentivizes you to have one. when you earn interest on a savings account, that is the bank giving you a tiny kickback of the money they are making through investing your (and others’ blended) deposits.
the traditional banking system is insured by the federal deposit insurance corporation (FDIC), which is a government agency. if you took all your money out of the bank and hid it under your mattress, if somebody broke into your house and stole it, you will lose all your money. but the government insures money in traditional banks, usually up to $250,000 per consumer account. this means that even if the bank company’s investments all fail and the bank company loses all your cash, the government will bail the bank out, and you will not lose your money.
by putting your money in a traditional bank, you ensure your money is protected, you get a small kickback of interest, and you get access to the convenience of the bank’s online platform to track your finances. you also get a debit card to easily make purchases by drawing directly from your accounts. for the bank company, they get billions of dollars of interest-free loans, in the form of their customer’s deposits, to invest in the stock market. at its core, ignoring fees and credit cards and mortgages, this is how the banking system works.
bankification is the idea that non-banking companies are trying to operate like banks. this includes tech companies like Apple offering credit cards, but an aspect of bankification that is less understood is companies incentivizing consumers to give them interest-free loans. while banks are regulated by the government in exactly when and how they can operate within this business model, other companies trying to profit through this model are not always beholden to these regulations because their activities are not technically considered banking. let’s look at an example: loyalty programs.
in 2025, starbucks has an estimated $2 billion in deferred revenue from their loyalty program. deferred revenue is like a gift card; the company receives money because the customer paid up-front for the gift card, but the company is beholden to discount a future purchase by the pre-paid amount. there are multiple advantages to receiving deferred revenue for a company.
when a customer loads money onto their starbucks loyalty account, they are essentially buying a digital gift card. remember how banks encourage consumers to put money into savings accounts because it is a long-term holding account, which makes it a more stable investment base? once you buy a gift card, you cannot convert it back into cash. the money cannot leave the company, making a very stable investment base. starbucks offers a lot of benefits and discounts for customers who load money onto their loyalty accounts because starbucks recognizes the value of a captive investment base of interest-free loans. when many customers prepay through the loyalty program, starbucks is using that pooled money the same way a bank does: investing it to make even more money.
as a side note, two other major advantages of this gift card model for companies is inflation and breakage. money loses value over time through inflation. when you buy a gift card, you pay the money upfront, and the company can invest that money sooner at its higher value. breakage is the idea that if a gift card is bought but never redeemed, then the company essentially got money for nothing.
now, does this bankification through loyalty programs directly hurt consumers? well, not really. consumers who participate in these sorts of loyalty programs get benefits like discounts. the problem is indirect harms: that this money is uninsured for the consumer, and the deferred revenue investment base is less regulated than traditional banks.
if starbucks’ investments failed and the company died, any money those customers had paid into the loyalty program but had not yet used on purchases would disappear. the money is not insured, so the customer wouldn’t get it back. the same is true for keeping your money in any non-FDIC insured company, including companies like PayPal and Cashapp*. (*some services from those platforms, usually the credit cards, are insured because they have a backing partner bank. but a sitting balance in a free account is usually not FDIC-insured. don’t leave your money sitting in these accounts.)
because companies investing their deferred revenue is regulated and taxed differently than traditional banks’ investments, not only if there less protection for the consumer, but there is less protection for the wider economy. If a bankified company with significant investments into other bankified company fails, this can cause a shockwave effect similar to the 2008-9 financial crisis wherein all the interconnected bankified companies are destabilized. banks are heavily regulated to avoid that happening again, but bankified companies are not beholden to that legislation.
just cause it’s worth a mention, the predatory opposite-twin of the loyalty-program type bankification is buy-now pay-later bankification. buy now pay later is a more approachable way of saying financing. a mortgage is a type of financing; the bank pays for your house up-front, and you need to repay them over a period of years with interest and potential fees. again, traditional banks are heavily regulated in what they can do with financing. bankified companies offer financing on their purchases because they aren’t beholden to the same strict regulation, and they can set the time period, fees, and interest on their financing to whatever they want. bankified financing is often much more directly predatory to the consumer.
Too bad the prophet Cassandra never met Odysseus
They say if she made a prophecy Nobody would believe her
I’ve gotta say, that is exactly the kind of stupid thing that probably would circumvent a curse.
Cassandra: YOU ARE ALL GOING TO REGRET THIS SO MUCH YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW.
Odysseus: Regret it why?
Cassandra: You won’t believe me if I tell you. If I prophecy, nobody believes me. That is my curse.
Odysseus: … I’m Nobody. Fill me in.
*A couple of months later*
Odysseus: HELLO PENELOPE, I AM HERE PRECISELY ON TIME AND NOT YEARS LATE incidentally I rescued and adopted a Trojan seer while I was away, she’s great, got me home really fast, Cassandra this is your new mother who’s not going to treat you like shit.
Penelope: … I’m going to need more details, but okay, sure.
Cassandra: *in tears* I love you, new family.
Cassandra: Penelope, I’ve had another vision.
Penelope, sighs: Go tell your father.

Katara is living her BEST LIFE in the OG cartoon. She almost single-handedly finds and rescues the most powerful spiritual figure in the entire world. He thinks she’s extremely cool and offers to personally escort her to the other side of the world so she can learn how to waterbend, something she’s desperately wanted her entire life. She then gets the chance to leave her hometown for the first time EVER and travel the world, being dashingly heroic as she incites uprisings and kicks ass. She surpasses the Avatar in waterbending and becomes *his* teacher. She’s a major player in saving the world from the colonial power that tried to destroy her entire culture. The Avatar – again, *the* powerful spiritual hero she spent her childhood listening to stories about and hoping would return, whose life she has now saved multiple times – is her best friend and biggest fan, and she is absolutely locking him down romantically by the end of the series.
Katara literally cannot stop winning. Inspirational.
She also gets to steal from pirates, have a spa day, and go to a dance party. As a treat
there are a NUMBER of folktale Woman-Creatures like selkies who exist to make the inherently coercive nature of heterosexual marriage explicit and to externalize male anxiety about how if your wife had actual autonomy she very well might disappear and you might never fucking hear from her again
which is a FASCINATING category of Woman-Creature imo
someone said it's also a cautionary tale about mistreating your wife and I think that's spot on especially for other related types of stories e.g. the crane wife. like I think these stories are very much Husband Anxiety Stories. the Woman-Creatures are black boxes whose interior experience it is impossible to know and who have strange and often seemingly arbitrary rules that you must follow or else they will disappear. idk. like. that's why I think that any empowering-to-women-ness qualities of these stories is incidental. I think they're externalized anxiety about coercive societal heterosexuality and the inability to truly Know one's wife in such circumstances.
you also see a variant of this formula a lot (generally at the more literary end of the fairy tale space) where it's not a creature you capture, but a magical lady who picks you for seemingly arbitrary reasons, bettering your fortune enormously with her magic and wealth and second-hand status.
and then, for reasons usually at least slightly less arbitrary, fucks off again.
the husbandly anxiety here is more about not having access to coercion as an option.
oooo yes absolutely!
was just talking to Story about this and he told me about one folktale where a guy meets a beautiful woman at a lake and she brings a bountiful dowry of like one million fat cows and such and she is of course a fairy so she's like "my one requirement in our bargain is that if you strike me three times I will leave" and in many versions of the story the husband doesn't ""actually"" strike her -- each time it's something like, one 'strike' involves her forgetting her gloves inside and he walks out and taps her on the shoulder with her gloves, but she tells him that counts as striking her. this sort of thing. which is TRANSPARENTLY like "whoa wouldn't it be fucked up if your wife could enforce consequences for behavior she said was harmful, even if according to your cultural norms it was fine, and you didn't see it as a big deal?" like... lol. what if women could actually be the ones who decided whether or not any given action their husbands took against them was harmful? IMAGINE... PREDEY SCARY....
