Wednesday nights are always the worst. I want David to myself but every week it’s the same way. He has to edit late into the night and then after that David and Jason have to record the podcast.
“Hey, are you starting the podcast?” I ask, peeking my head into the David’s studio. I have to readjust the blanket I had wrapped around me.
David is sitting on one couch and Jason is across from him on the other. Joe is laying on the floor, he has to edit this after they’re done recording it.
“We already did.” David smiles at me he’s still talking into the microphone, I fight off a yawn and cover my mouth. “Why don’t you go to bed, I’ll be in there in like an hour.”
I shake my head no before he can even finish his sentence.
“You know I won’t be able to fall asleep without you.” I feel the bright blush take over my face. Jason turns to look at me with a smile, knowing I must be embarrassed.
“Want to come here?” David gestures to the rest of the couch he’s sitting on.
I walk in and lay down on the couch next to David. I put my head on his lap and lay my legs over the edge of the couch. I pull his head down in a quick kiss, then he puts his hand on my head and continues the topic at hand. David and Jason continue talking for a while, David combing through my hair.
“(Y/n) has joined us.” Jason narrates, I send Jason a smile.
My eyelids are so heavy I can’t hold them up anymore. I stay awake and just listen to them talk for a while.
“So, how are things with (Y/n)?” Jason asks David.
I can hear David laugh, I have to fight back a smile. At this point I might as well pretend to be asleep. David leans forward and looks down at my face.
“Things are great.” I can tell that David has a nervous edge in his voice.
“Yeah? You don’t sound so sure.” Jason laughs.
“No no, they really are!” David tries to reassure.
There’s a pause in the conversation until David starts talking again.
“She is absolutely fucking amazing. For those of you who don’t watch my videos I’m talking about (Y/n). I think I’ve mentioned her a few times on here.” I can tell he’s smiling by his voice.
“Tell us about your relationship. You don’t talk about you and (Y/n) very much.” Jason directs.
“After Liza I thought it was going to be really hard to find a person who works so well with me. Once I met (Y/n) I just knew.”
“I knew that she was the one.”
I can hear Jason scoffing and making noises to show his disbelief.
“No seriously!” David laughs because he knows how that sounds, “We just clicked and now I don’t want to be with anything else ever. It’s always her. She’s my girl.”
David stops running his hand so he could stop and look at me.
“If you guys could see this right now you would be melting.” Jason informs the listeners, “(Y/n) is asleep and laying down next to David. If you guys saw the look on David’s face right now he’s so in love, you would never know how evil this man truly is.”
“Shut the fuck up.” David is laughing again.
After that Jason moves on and I actually fall asleep. David slowly shakes me awake.
“Babe, we just finished the podcast. Let’s go to bed.”
I follow David to his room, I climb in next to him. He wraps his arm around my waist. My back is pressed tightly against his chest.
“Yeah?” He repeats back, the tiredness evident in his voice.
“I’m glad I’m your girl.” I smile, thinking back on what he said.
“Wha-? You were listening!” His hand tightens on my waist. He starts tickling at my waist and I let out a loud laugh.
“Stop!” I yell while still laughing, “Stop!”
“You little snake! Pretending you were sleeping.”
“I wasn’t! I was trying to fall asleep and then you guys started talking. I wasn’t just going to sit up!”
He rolls his eyes but the smile never leaves his face.
“That’s embarrassing that you heard that.” He pouts.
“I could’ve heard it on the podcast!” I argue.
“If it makes you feel better, you’re my boy.” I lean in and press a kiss to his lips.
He moans against my lips and I smile.
“Still tired?” I question.
“Not so much. Why do you ask?” Even in the darkness of the room I can see a smirk on his face.
“I just thought maybe I could show you how much I love you.” I roll over so I can straddle his lap.
