It's very very important to me that they're friends, best friends, they like each other So Much, they have inside jokes, they make fun of Sam together, they watch movies and hang out, they check in and they don't have to pretend they're fine when the other asks if they're okay, they bicker but in the way where it's mostly fond, they have each other's backs, Dean fixes Cas's car and Cas does the heavy lifting, they eat off the same plate, they're comfortable in each other's space, they make each other smile, they hug, they're best fucking friends!

it's depresssing and very frustrating that dean was ultimately silenced till the very end and i also think that's probably why sometimes there's a tendency to make cas' confession a bit too much about dean (when cas himself already makes it all about dean lol) but it makes me wanna be like well No that was cas' big moment!! he's always been one of the angels who felt "too much" again and again, and now he finally got to fully develop these feelings and this very special connection to someone, broke free from naomi's control when she tried to mess with it, and finally arrived at this moment where he gets to just speak his truth and nobody is trying to mess with his brain or trying to "reset" him and he can fully allow this intense emotion to take over and let it all out!! idk i sound like such a sentimental blob lmao but that's what destiel does to you damn

now if we're gettin' tragic with this. dean says to cas that billie only wants dean, and dean can't get away, but cas can. but he asks him for one favor before cas goes. kill him, before billie can. save him from torment. cas is absolutely furious that dean would even suggest it but he realizes that if dean is gone, cas is safe from the empty for a bit longer, and he knows that billie will take dean there. cas pulls dean close and stabs him through the heart with his blade, in a lazarus rising mirror. dean thanks him.

@koza-the-mostra i see it! i respect it! i think cas would try to be careful to keep himself safe from the empty so he would say something like "you're so important to me" or "i'll come find you." unless...oh god...he chose to say it then so for once they could go together.

cas knows not to say it but dean...dean might try to say it. cas could choose to tell him about the deal, which would make dean avoid saying anything. if dean tried to say something cas could stop him like he did in the trap. or. Or. dean could say it. but because he's dying in cas' arms cas is too distraught for that revelation to summon the empty.

oh my godddd i've rewatched the pilot so many times and it's only this time that i've noticed that when dean comes running up the hall before john hands him sam he's shouting "daddy!" in a scared little voice aughh he woke up afraid and went looking for help and in the previous scene when he shouted "daddy!" and ran up to john he picked dean up and held him close but this time he's given sam and told to run. you have to save yourself. you can't rely on dad to keep you safe. like there's the thesis.
