When my grandmother was sent a death threat through text message, I reported it to the police. The officer told me that "it's not considered a death threat unless the message mentions a weapon and a deadline".

As a result, they didn't do anything. Not even a verbal warning to that person.

Or, there's a double standard when it comes to billionaires and big corporations. Who'd have thought.

Remember kids, the government will test out their bullshit on minor citizens and if that’s successful they’ll move on to adult citizens.

That anti-abortion trafficking law that says if you bring a minor out-of-state for an abortion without parental permission? If successful, they’ll try it on adults next.

The ‘Kids Online Safety Act?’ If successful, they’ll monitor and censor content for adults, too.

The anti-trans healthcare for children Supreme Court case that’s going on right now? Same deal. If they can get it so they can deny trans kids care, that opens the door to prevent trans healthcare for adults, too.

And if you support any of these for any reason, you support censorship and the state controlling aspects of your life. Protect kids’ rights because if they can successfully take legislate away the ability for a minor to travel for healthcare, their ability to use the internet, and their ability to get gender affirming care, they will come for your ability next.

being an undiagnosed autistic but also having undiagnosed adhd that basically makes your memory so shit (short and long term) you only have random one off memories from when you were younger to go off of that could indicate autism so now you feel like a fraud because it feels like everyone else can remember things they did as a child that pointed to autism but you just can’t. I can’t even remember if I consciously masked or not because I feel like I did since only when lockdown hit it seemed like my autism became more noticeable but I also don’t remember ever feeling like I had to be normal unless I was told to 😶 I genuinely would unironically describe myself as “not like other girls”

The thing about ADHD is that the "lack of reward chemicals in your brain" doesn't just mean that you don't want to do any tasks that don't feel particularly yummy :(, it means that your brain will look at chores and tasks that need to be done like "doing this would be painful and tedious for absolutely nothing to gain from it, Do Not Do That." The same thing that your brain tells you about everything else that would feel really bad and hurt the entire time that you're dying. The part of your brain that stops you from doing the thing is the same part that keeps you from shoving your arm into a wood chipper.

With unmedicated, unmanaged ADHD, "I have to do this assignment or I fail and my life will be ruined and I die" feels like a SAW trap, every single time.
