Jean-Yves Moreau is so special because what do you mean they did everything they could to hurt and traumatize you and yet your heart is still filled with this quiet but intense love that you’re only just now being allowed to express?

Neil and Jean are such an interesting almost ‘reverse parallel’ because on one side you have this boy who’s always been told ‘adapt, change, don’t be anyone for too long, go go go, keep going no matter what, never stay in one spot.’

Then on the other you have a boy who had all of his rights to even be human stripped away: ‘you are one of us, you will behave just like us, you will never be your own person; we will watch you bleed out if you even try, we will always hate hate hate you even if you play by our rules.’

And yet in another lifetime, they would’ve been partners. They would’ve been just the same but also maybe not; maybe if Nathaniel had been there, Jean would’ve fought back a little longer. Maybe if he had had Jean, Neil would have felt less so terribly alone in the world.

it's so funny to me how Neil's demisexual ass is just collecting devoted men left and right. like Andrew, obviously, but you also have Kevin and Neil being each others obsession aside from Exy. Nicky treating him like his little duckling, his dear child he birthed himself. Jean and Neil with their whole "forever misplaced partners"/"he was supposed to be mine" thing going on. Neil and Matt being platonic soulmates (and honestly, if Matt wasn't a loyal man, he probably would've risked it all for piece of Neil). and it's like if you're not ready to die for him, you can't stand Neil and low-key want to smother this menace in his sleep (Seth, Aaron, Riko, etc.)
