Alien Stage Character Analysis- MIZI (after having read the new comic)
A Very Subjective Interpretation / Impression
I came across a new comic related to this series, and it seems like people are interpreting it in all kinds of ways. As a psych major and enthusiast, I found it really interesting!
I actually had to read it twice to start comprehending exactly what feelings this particular character may convey: here's my personal thoughts and interpretations on Mizi after having read this piece.
Get more from VIVINOS on Patreon
In short, what we thought of this character is not something that should be interpreted as a mere "facade" or "a lie" (it's simple enough to see, but I still think that should be brought up as starters.)
Rather, this is actually stemming from Mizi's self-depreciation that she couldn't be as sincere and helpful as she ever wanted to be. It's her desire for sincerity that's causing her these inner struggles and self-mockery.
Mizi seems to have had the feeling of: âIâm struggling too.â
she tried really, really hard to be that girl who everyone could love. and I think she wanted to be that way not just because she wanted to use others, she thought that was what she could give.
This doesnât mean Mizi wasnât pureâitâs actually the opposite. That kind of emotion does genuinely exist in her.
She can truly think things like âThat kid who slapped me isnât actually a bad person,â or âBeing with Sua makes me so, so happy.â She really means those things. But there are multiple layers about her. Itâs not that sheâs being fakeâmany of her emotions are genuinely felt.
But theyâre not coming from a place of being âsimplyâ or ânaivelyâ pure.
Let me explain it like this:
Outer Layer (Expression / Facial Features / Outward Behavior): Appears bright, pure, openly expressive, and acts as if she doesnât understand the full context.
First Inner Layer (Surface-Level Instinctive Psychology): Actually struggling. Stressed. Feels pressured to maintain that outer appearance. Thatâs why when Sua says, âYou have it easy, huh?â(The original KR text for this is "í¸íě§?" which means "you're in a comfortable situation, right." The English version translates this as "It must be nice."), Mizi instinctively slaps her in response. Because it isn't that way.
It was an immediate reflex, stemming from deep emotional painâlike âSua, even you donât understand me at all. I thought you would, if nobody else would.â Thatâs why right after hitting Sua, sheâs shocked and cries while apologizing.
and then she begins to think she's "cunning"-
Because, underneath that is the second, deeper emotional layer: self-hate and guilt.
Thoughts like: âIâm not actually as innocent, pure, and all-loving as people think I am.â + âDid I just survive all this time by manipulating others?â These thoughts are intruding in her and getting reinforced the more people die, and she keeps surviving in the rounds.
Sheâs becoming harsher in her judgment of herself. The guilt and self-loathing are growing intenseâespecially because she couldnât save Till.
In the comic, when she says to Till: âI love Sua the most. Is it that hard for you to stop liking me?â, thatâs because Mizi truly cares for Till.
Sheâs saying: âI canât love you back the way you want. I canât give you what you hope for. So why do you still like me? Wouldnât it be better if you didnât?â This is her opening up. It means she trusts Till enough to show that side of herself and be more truthful about what she can or cannot do.
Itâs like saying: âIâm not who you think I am. If you keep liking me, youâll only be disappointed. Are you really okay with that?â
By choosing to have that honest conversation instead of pretending, she didnât want to hurt Till. What shows here is that she really does consider Till a friend. Even if her feelings toward Sua and Till differ, Till is still precious to her. Sheâs saying this because she knows she canât give Till what he wants.
But when Till responds with something like, âI just think youâre pretty. Thatâs why I like youâŚâ âhe probably meant it in a broader sense: not just her physical appearance, but the beauty he sees in her kindness, her heart.
A dissonance/disconnection between the two happens. Mizi, who was earlier slapped by a boy who liked her for being âpretty,â but got offended by her "pretending to be oblivious and clueless," hears this and interprets it the wrong way:
She thinks: âSo even Till likes me because Iâm âprettyâ⌠Thatâs the only reason.â She canât believe that sheâs lovable for who she is, so the thought that probably hits her here is:
âAh⌠I really am someone who can only survive this way.â
Because everyone expects that from her, and because sheâs already become that person in their eyes.
If she were to suddenly show her honest self, it would break all of that. Sheâd lose her connection to the world.
Whatâs happening with Mizi is that she doesnât believe that the genuinely pure and beautiful side of her (the one that shows up in her usual expressions and actions) actually exists within her. Because she feels so much guilt and self-hate.
And that is what she believes is her true self, â THE TRUE FACEâ as portrayed in the title of this comic.
Thatâs why Mizi now sees all her past actions as:
âI was pretending to be pure to survive. I used that fake purity to manipulate everyone.â
But the truth isâitâs not the whole picture.
At the deepest level (3rd internal layer, her core), Mizi really does want to love others, be bright, be honest.
Other people saw that in herâeven more than she did herself and appreciated it, and thatâs why they loved her.
The way she acted toward Sua, Ivan, Till, Hyunaâthose were all genuine. She always wanted to help them. She earnestly hoped theyâd all survive and live happily together with her.
But when things didnât go that way, the guilt overwhelmed her. And now she believes everyone was fooled by the persona she âmade up.â That she was evil and cunning. So now she blames herself.
But how others treated Mizi all along was a reflection of how Mizi treated them. EveryoneâIvan, Sua, Till, Hyunaâreally cared for her. Thatâs because she did always love them sincerely, and that love came through.
Even if Mizi now thinks, âI had such awful thoughts. I was calculating and untrueâŚâ, the other characters would probably look at her now and say: âOh Mizi⌠You went through so much. Itâs okay. We don't blame you.â
Her tendency to blame herself, feel guilty, and try to meet othersâ expectations isnât selfish. It comes from how deeply she cares about others.
She's really that girl who wants to say, âThat kid who hit me wasnât actually that badâŚâ That comes from her heart. Thatâs Miziâs true kindness.
She really is a good person, with a beautiful heart.
If Mizi had lived an ordinary life, her outward appearance and core inner self wouldâve been fully aligned.
But in this series, the situation is so extreme that extra emotional layers got added on top of all that
That doesnât mean she lacks kindness or her usual cheery brightness.
You know those super cheerful moments in the previous videos or comicsâ the ones where Mizi looks carefree and innocent?
That is her true nature.
Itâs just that, even while she looks that way, sheâs also holding a lot of thoughts and feelings inside. It can happen at the same time. Whether consciously or unconsciously, sheâs carried those burdens.
And if she had lived in a world where she didnât have to carry them, those layers might never have formed.
Thatâs how I interpret it.
Oh, and that one picture where Mizi is smiling over the bodies of the other characters you can find in VIVINO'S youtube channelâ
Thatâs displaying her inner self-hatred and despair.
If everyone else had survived, she wouldâve been so much happier. But she survived alone in that horrible situation.
So now she thinks:
âIâm the only one who survived? Wow, look at you. Good job. You got what you wanted by using everyone else, didnât you?â Sheâs turning that blame inward. Sheâs labeling herself as cruel.
It might be a kind of psychological defense or rationalization, but ultimately itâs because sheâs suffering.
Of course she isâŚ
If someone came back alive and told her:
âYou didnât survive because you were cunning. You survived because we loved you, just as much as you loved us.â Then I think Mizi could start to heal. But that hasnât happenedâso she canât.
I really wonder whatâll happen to her...;
Mizi is someone who wants to be kind and deeply understanding.
Her ideals are highâ she wants to love everyone, be good to everyone, to not feel hatred, give whatever she can. Her desires do lie in those kindness.
But because she canât reach those ideals, she thinks sheâs a bad person and blames herself. That's what's being portrayed in that particular comic. She's someone who's struggling to be kind and is currently devaluing herself from the mismatch between her ideals and her reality. She deserves to be happy, like everyone else in this series does. And forgive herself regarding what's happened at that, because what's happened is so far from her fault.

I have seen Enough of short king Egg-chan and long haired fancy clothing Wemmbu.
How are we feeling about tall, lanky eggchan and cuts his own hair with a sword Wemmbu? Perchance with rougher clothing? Eggchan with his suit and tie is the fancy one in Tax Duo, Wemmbu spun his own thread and wove some cloth and sewed himself the ugliest shirt you've ever seen, which you can't see because he's a lot better at making armour than clothing and wears that over his lumpyass shirt. The cloak is less lumpy, mainly because it required less sewing
Very interesting!

Group Questions To Get To Know Your Cast Better!
Or for different groups amongst your cast if you have a large cast like I do
Who tends to be the one that just goes along with plans others make?
What do the others associate with each of the group members (a specific color, character, food, etc.)?
Whoâs the most assertive?
Whoâs the least assertive?
Who comes to things right on time?
Who comes to things incredibly late? How late?
Who comes to things incredibly early? How early?
Whoâs the most reliable for petsitting or babysitting?
Piggybacking off that last question, what shenanigans would ensue if the group petsat/babysat altogether?
Does the group have something like friendship bracelets to show their bond?
Whatâs the name of their group chat, and why? If not from the digital age, does the group have a name they refer to themselves as in-canon? What is it? And why?
What are little habits that each of the characters have picked up from one another?
Whatâs the type of photos each of them would take of the others when on a hangout?
How do they help each other when one of them is scared?
Do they have a bucket list together? Whatâs on it?
What To Do When You Know Your Ending but Have No Clue How to Get There
congrats. youâve unlocked the most ⨠cursed ⨠form of storytelling: knowing the destination but having zero map, no snacks, and one emotionally unstable protagonist riding shotgun.
aka: you know how your book ends. maybe even the Last Lineâ˘. but the middle? the plot? the scenes required to get there?
đŚđŚđŚ
welcome to liminal writing hell. hereâs what to do about it:
đ¨ STEP 1: Write the ending anyway.
yes. even if youâre only on chapter three. write the ending now. not perfectly. not canon. just get it down while itâs burning in your brain.
this does 2 things:
gets you emotionally invested in where youâre headed
gives you a north star to align your scenes to
future-you will thank you when you're knee-deep in act 2, spiraling, and you need to remember what this mess was for.
𧊠STEP 2: Backwards logic it like a feral detective.
ask: what has to happen right before this ending can exist? then ask that question again. and again. until youâve accidentally built a whole reverse-outline.
like:
⨠final scene: heroine stabs the love interest to save the world â she needs to know heâs the villain â she needs to see him do something unforgivable â she needs a reason to be in the same room as him when it happens â she needs to go to the city where heâs hiding â she needs to choose betrayal over loyalty
now reverse those like breadcrumbs through the forest of chaos.
đŻ STEP 3: Identify your mid-point emotional switch.
the best middles arenât just âstuff happening.â theyâre a turning point. a reversal. a Big Choice. often itâs the opposite of the ending.
ending = character sacrifices love midpoint = character believes love will fix everything
this sets up contrast + emotional stakes. the midpoint shows how wrong they are. the ending proves how far theyâve come.
no midpoint? no tension. build the middle to break them, then rebuild toward the finale.
𧹠STEP 4: Stack up your themes like Jenga blocks.
what are you actually saying with this ending?
if the ending is: âfreedom comes at a priceâ then the story needs to explore:
what freedom means
who pays that price
how people deny the cost
how your protagonist learns to accept it
if your middle scenes arenât touching these ideas? theyâre just filler. start weaving the theme early, subtly, and repeatedly. make it hurt a little.
đŚ STEP 5: Write âjunk scenesâ in the blank spaces.
not sure how they get from castle to climax? write a fake scene. not canon. no pressure. just vibes. let the characters mess around in the setting. argue. kiss. kill. eat soup. whatever.
youâll learn what they want, what secrets theyâre hiding, what tensions spark.
some of these junk scenes will turn out to be real. others will guide you to what needs to happen next. use them as scaffolding.
đ§ STEP 6: Accept that messy = forward.
you wonât always see the whole road. write the next landmark. write the next mistake. write the next bad scene and figure out why it doesnât work.
knowing your ending is a gift. the rest? thatâs the part where you dig.
you donât need a perfect bridge. you just need enough planks to get across without falling into the river of Iâll-Fix-It-Later.
now go. write the scene where everything breaks.

A Demon, an Angel, and their Anchors
Alright, so. Eggchan and Wemmbu, are, of course, always together in everything, the bestest of friends. And everyone knows that Eggchan is Wemmbu's weakness.
And he's also his main anchor to sanity. Without Eggchan, Wemmbu tends to be more unhinged and chaotic, as we all know.
Now, I constantly see "Dead Eggchan" AUs where Wemmbu went crazy and started killing EVERYONE around.
But what if it was also the other way around?
In a AU where Eggchan is an Angel; a Seraphim, an Eldritch creature, whatever: What if Wemmbu is also Eggchan's anchor? Now, in an AU where Eggchan is peaceful, but also a powerful Angel: What if Wemmbu was the one who died? Well, without his anchor, with a reason to NOT be peaceful anymore and no reason to stay so... What if he just.. Snapped?
Bonus: The "Anchor" thing isn't just a metaphor, but an actual mechanic. Wemmbu and Eggchan are often headcannoned as a Demon and an Angel, so what if Demons and/or Angels literally need anchors to keep themselves stable/down-to-earth or whatever?
