Patricia took a slow drink of her whisky and narrowed her eyes, considering the person in front of her. Lowering her glass, she gave them a restrained smile.

“I don’t believe we’ve met,” she said coolly. “But you obviously know who I am, considering you went out of your way to sit down at my booth.” 

“Oh, did I? Sorry. I don’t really know what that means, sorry. Do you want me to get up?” Greta smiles politely. She had absolutely chosen to sit in the seat she was now in because she’d wanted to get to know this lady. She was the most attractive person she’d seen in all of her life. “We haven’t met - I’m Greta. But, honestly I’m sorry. Don’t get out very much.”

Greta shakes her head while she struggles to keep the bigger man standing. “She’s not here? What on earth are you doing drinking alone? Don’t tell me you’ve turned into a loser.”

She grinned back and started to pull them towards a restaurant nearby, waving off her friends offer. “It was great actually. We’re all starting to get the hang of things. Still working on how to convince you to transfer to my team…”

“Yeah, yeah. I’m peachy.” Tristan’s reflexes told him to swat her hands away the second she put them on him. His reason on the other hand demanded to at least allow this to go on until he was a little steadier on his feet. “Oh, so you’re saying you’re both? A healer and nosy?”

Greta smiled tightly and tried not to roll her eyes. “You wouldn’t be the first to say that, and I doubt you’ll be the last.” She turned to look around the street for anywhere for the man to rest for the moment. “Are you feeling dizzy at all, or fatigued?”

“got hit with some fucking hex. don’t know what. leg feels like it’s bleeding, head hurts, think it’s unrelated but i’m- fuck!- not a healer.” normally obliviators didn’t have to deal with this shit, that was one of the perks of the job, now aurors would have to get involved and it’d be a whole mess. fucking annoying.

Greta frowned in concentration, “Do you mind pointing out which leg? I’ll take at look at it.” She raised her wand slowly, casting episkey precautionarily and readying her med-kit in case she needed to bandage anything quickly. “How d’you mean? Do you get headaches a lot?”

“Oh, merlin,’ Greta cackled, almost losing balance herself. “Where is that beautiful girl of yours, Bilius. I need reinforcements.”

echo shrugged as if to say she wasn’t sure, but it was non-committal at best. then she nodded. “I dehydrate easy.” the admission came as she ignored the pills named a word she was unfamiliar with and took the bottle of water instead. it wasn’t always wise to admit that you weren’t totally human, especially given everything going on in the world. “thanks.”

“Are you sensitive to light at all?” She asked, retrieving her wand from her coat pocket. “I’d just like to check your eyes for any sign of concussion.” Even though she wasn’t technically on duty, Greta would be restless if she didn’t at least ask to be of any further assistance. Her eyebrows twitched curiously as she put the pills away. “Don’t mention it.”

“so sorry,” shu-hui apologized to the hazy looking woman that grabbed his elbow. he had underestimated the blow he’d taken from one of his students. they’d fired off a spell when his back was turned to impress the class, which had resulted in shu knocking his head against his desk. “i’m okay, thank you. just a little.. dizzy. one of my students thought it would be funny to catch me off guard.”

“Here,’ Greta said, leading the man to the side of the street where he was less likely to get bumped into by the afternoon-rush of crowds. “I’m going to just check you’ve not been hit too badly, if that’s alright with you.” Greta offered a polite smile and took her wand out of her pocket. “This sounds like it could be a villain origin story. You’ve trained an evil genius.”

“i’m a healer too, sorry. i’m just…” benjy mutters, blinking his eyes hard to try and gather his bearings again. he takes another staggering step until he meets a wall and then leans up against it. “i feel kind of cold?”

Greta smiles gently and only let’s go of the man’s arm once she’s confident he isn’t going to fall over. She doesn’t worry too much about warning him of her actions because he’s a healer too. She puts the back of her palm against his forehead, “Well, you don’t have a temperature…”

“Oh, darling.” Greta tutted, looping her arm around her friends back. “Have you had anything to eat? How about we get some dinner, my shout.”

“yeah, i’m fucking fine.” rabastan went to swat her hands away, but he didn’t quite have it in him. he also wouldn’t typically be so fucking crass with a stranger, but his leg and his head were currently having a battle for what felt worse. his leg was winning. “sorry. didn’t mea- ahh!” he hissed lightly in pain, then cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. “said you were a healer?”

Greta didn’t flinch at the cursing. After working at the ward for as long as she had, she was accustomed to far worse. “Yes, healer. And a very good one, too.” She used the arm on his shoulder to guide him to a bench. “What’s up? What’s causing the problem?”

“I’m bloody amazing!” Bilius said, letting out a laugh as he caught his balance. The second half of that firewhiskey bottle was probably not a good idea. “A healer? Me too! Pleasure t’ meet ya.”

Greta’s professionalism disappears as she realises this stranger was Bilius. She laughs loudly with him, grabbing his other arm to held him stand up properly. “Pleased to meet me? Jesus, Bilius. How much have you had to drink?”

everything felt warm and white. her vision was blurring and the noise in her ears was muted. the lights were too bright and it was overwhelmingly stifling. echo nodded. she would be fine. she probably just needed some water. “head hurts.”

“Does that happen to you very often?” Greta nodded, looking into the woman’s eyes to check for any sign of concussion. She dug through her pocket and pulled out a fresh sheet of tablets. “This is just paracetamol, take two,’ She said as she dug in her bag for a bottle of water.

Bilius turned around at the sound of Greta’s voice, a smile pulling across his features. “Depends, do you know how to change a lightbulb? I can’t find my wand.”

“Of course I can change a lightbulb, I’m basically a mother of three.” She smiled and rolled up her sleeves, walking closer to the lighting fixture in question. “How’s it all going? Been busy?”

“Are you alright?” Greta asked, jumping forward to hold the elbow of the person who’d started to stagger in front of her. She tried to keep them upright as much as she could without touching them more without their permission. “I’m a healer, not just nosy.”
