In the dark privacy of Ice’s room, the phone on the bedside table rang with all the considerate tact of a fry pan to the temple.

Ice jolted like he’d just acquainted himself intimately with a live wire, sheets tangling around his legs as he fumbled for the phone in a sleep scrambled panic. Propped up on one elbow, he nearly dropped it twice as he brought it to his ear, heart thumping viscerally in his chest above a stomach churning like the sea.

“Who. Why.” he demanded hazily, tongue heavy and uncoordinated, mind even more so.

“So when you said anytime, did you mean anytime?”

I absolutely love the world of the Top Gun Wing AU, and I always headcanon that Mav has smaller wings and people made fun of him for it or said he’d never be a fighter pilot because his wings weren’t big or strong enough, but HE PROVED THEM ALL WRONG HAHAHA!! Also I wanted an excuse to doodle Mav with some wings :3 Thank you all for the support this week! I absolutely loved writing for you all and wanted to finish strong with a doodle! You’re all amazing snd it’s been so fun creating wondering Top Gun stuff all week with you guys! I loved seeing everything everyone made! DONT FORGET TO BUZZ THE TOWER! ✈️💙

It was just supposed to be a scouting run. A late night stealth flight, pairs of two mapping out the edge of their patrol sectors and searching for new enemy installations.

Of course, Maverick should have known better. They'd had a few successful nights so far, and that could only continue for so long.

He'd been paired with Ice again, and he'd rather die than admit it, but it's not so bad, actually. The Iceman can be fun, sometimes. Rarely. He's even got a sense of humor.

And, more importantly, he can actually keep up with Mav.

It was so much fun to participate and see everyone's art, writings, and other creations!

I love this amazing fandom and am so happy that we can all come together to celebrate something so awesome!!!

Top Gun absolutely kicks ass and so do all of you!

May we continue to spread our love for this wonderful movie and it's sequel.
