Sorry, I kinda forgot I'm supposed to do review or commentary for the real epilogue of Black Clover. So, here we go
Hmmm. I don't know what exactly to say. Well, it does wrap up stuffs while still left many more important points unanswered (how's the rest of supreme devils, do they even get killed by Lucius, what happened to the Dark Triad's bodies, Julius' past in Clover, the Zogratis family, what happened to the underworld, Astaroth, where the hell is Feremena during Spade arc, etc). I need to say it again that the part of Julius reviving everyone already done the level of damage that couldn't ever be repaired ever again for the writing. Next
I know some people will hate me, but the part of Asta becoming Wizard King in less than a year after final fight is a bit too fast for me. I get it, I get it that he has proven himself more than enough for the people and that's literally the main drive and motivation of this manga's protagonist. But, like, that's still a late teenager there already being the literal highest commander of the military. Well, that's shounen being shounen then. I could already smell dudebros missing my point if they see this
As for the m/f ships, congrats, I guess. Like that's a lot of people already married (dare I say uncreative way of confirming them as real canon but probably just me). Honestly what really surprised me the most is that Charlotte and Yami would get married that fast, I guess that's the power of proper communication. Also Charmy and Riil having more than two children in the span of two years makes me go "huh???". As for the m/m ship, William going to Elysia???? Is he like moving there or just paying a visit? Of course Patri would greet him right away
On the other hand, I'm personally mourning over Mimosa and Noelle being written to embrace their female love interest curse. Well, heavy on Mimosa because Noelle at last still have the part with her siblings (even if I'd prefer she never had half-assed reconciliation with them from the start, especially with that fucking Solid, and not being allowed by the writing to choose for herself and healing from the sibling trauma). Fuck the creator
Congrats to Nacht Faust for being promoted into the sole backbone and braincell of Black Bulls. That's for all the years you've spent far away from your own squad /jk
Regarding the elves joining Magic Knights, that didn't go unnoticed by me. The oppressed only being shown joining the equivalent of cops instead of going or trying so many other jobs and options outside that. Hmmm. Not the first, nor the last
Oh, almost forgot. Yuno technically still being a foreign Prince while also holding the position of a captain in Clover? Wouldn't that realistically should have consequences? I mean it's not like anyone would bother to engineer a plot to strip him off of his title out of insecurity etc (but then this is Clover and look at what they had done to the resurrected Wizard Kings), but there should still be negative perceptions and talks among the people and nobles. Especially considering the history of Spade, even if the recent regime is not the same as the previous one
I don't know what to say after this, sorry. Probably will edit this later if I got something on my mind tomorrow or later days
I'd say this is an okay ending after another typical messy badly-written endgame arc. I don't wanna expect much from the anime to fill up all the holes the manga left behind, the likes of Bleach is already a miracle in itself (and still not enough). Though one of the least things they could do is change the part where Ichika called her own brother with their family surname and come up with something more decent for the fights with the monstrous Paladins
