A Small but Pleasant Consolation.

Watched the Supergirl movie with my sister. I had to squeeze watch time as I was scared it would no longer be available in my city.

Strangely the movie's run time is quite short in my city, maybe due to low opening? It's unfortunate that people have been saying the movie is bad, even when most have not watched it. I would not say the movie is perfect but I think it will do you no harm to manage your expectations before watching a film. At least when you decides not to watch, try not to insist a movie is bad especially to your audience, as it will not be fair.

One youtube reviewer that I love watching at least hve the decency to refrain from judging a film if he is not interested in watching a movie.

I loved the movie even though it has flaws, I think some of the negative 'reviews' are unwarranted. Some people said that it is silly that Kara's motivation is just her dog Krypto getting poisoned, John Wick also had that plot point but almost no one complained about that. If people can reason that his dog represent the bond that he had with his wife, than it would not be too far fetched for Krypto to be the only emotional connection Kara had to her family and her lost home.

Supergirl is a movie that touches upon the feeling of losing everything you have but still not giving up in this cruel world, even though your effort may not be perfect. I think it is a very universally relatable experience regardless of who gets to be the main character. Just because Kara is a woman, does not mean that you can't relate to her experiences.

I know film is not as colourful as the comic but there are also beautiful shot in the film that are worthy of their own merit. Hopefully film makers are bolder with future film's visual direction.

The climax felt a bit lacking in its impact, but I don't consider it to be a flaw too much. We are not exploring a big bad villain since the story is a personal one and Supergirl not really having mamy iconic nemesis. Lobo in my opinion is a fun addition but sometimes there are times where his inclusion does not fit the scene or lessen the intensity of a scene, but I welcome his presence especially when our mains is separated.

I went through a thrilling ride of an emotional roller coaster watching the movie and left the theather looking forward for future adventures.

It's been a while, I did not have mental strength to post anything the past few weeks. I've been doodling during that time but depression has suck all motivations to post.

Things have been better as of late and I'm starting to find the energy to post again. It sucks that there are so many dramas in some fandom that I followed (like TADC), I just hope that even there will be more healthy engagement among the fans so we can continue to enjoy things together in peavce.

There's more I want to talk about but I'm currently not sure how to phrase my thinking clearly and concisely so I'll leave it at that for now.
