"if we can't remove people from a space based on sex or gender, how do we make sure people in the group stay safe from assholes?" if you can have an enforceable "no men" rule in a queer space you could probably have an enforceable "no assholes" rule instead. it's pretty easy actually. it's actually easier to tell if someone is an asshole based on their actions than their gender, in my experience.

I feel like not enough people realize that people under enormous strain act really really fucking Weird
things humans are known to do when stressed:
-hallucinate
-cry over what seems to be small things
-become furiously angry over what seems to be small things
-hit a self destruct button over and over again
-lose all sense of reality
-becoming straight up unable to communicate
-view every situation as life or death
-experience delusions/become vulnerable to irrational worldviews
-perceive hostility where none exists
-become extremely nauseous and/or throw up
-stop engaging in sleeping/eating/basic hygiene
-stop processing sensory input
-process way too much sensory input all at once
-lash out at others/themselves
-and more!
being able to recognize when a human (ie. you or another person) is so stressed out they cannot think clearly is VERY important for conflict resolution and diffusing emotional crisis. highly recommend trying to train yourself at being able to recognize that state of panic- there is a point in which logic and rationality is useless and you have to address the underlying emotional issue first. knowing that saves everyone a lot of pain and struggle.

continuing my fatlib battle bc of some fucked up posting ive seen lately. CW for mentions of ED.
u gotta stop equating seeing someone skinny with having restrictive eating disorders cus it reinforces the fact that size necessarily = food intake which. as a high profile fat person in nutrition therapy to make myself eat MORE OFTEN. this is simply not true!
fat people with restrictive EDs get congratulated for not eating and remain invisible cus disordered eating in this form is not commonly associated w fatness! ppl are getting hurt by this and many never know! i only found out bc i had a doctor attack me about my weight like trapped me in a really evil conversation and i gave in to the Disorder and sought out a dietician after. fortunately for me my therapist recommended me a health-at-every-size informed provider and literally saved my ass
focus on fat liberation instead of whichever celebrity woman you think definitely has anorexia and is corrupting the children or whatever if you actually care about the ~evils of diet culture~ or else you are an asshole.
How you feel about yourself body and how healthy your body actually is are two different challenges. Your doctor's job is to advocate for lowering your risk of disease associated with bigger weight. Your mental health is left totally out of the equation in that appointment. But patients are a whole person that need to be addressed; They need to be reffered to good mental health people. Society just needs to accept that fat people will exist and treat them with respect. Anyone's weight can change or not change, and their choice should be respected
