what
This whole thing has got me feeling so unsettled
lol honestly fuck you
It seems like most the people in my life are just such big asses and I don't know how to get away.
Proud to join friends, colleagues, and fellow New Yorkers at Terminal 4 today
To everyone alongside us at JFK today, to everyone who brought their passion, their anger, their pride, and their legal expertise to airports around the country: Thank you. Thanks to your efforts, the ACLU has successfully sued to temporarily block parts of this unconscionable abuse of executive power.
There’s plenty more to do, and plenty of ways to do it. If you want to do something right now, consider a donation to the Muslim Public Affairs Council, or sign their petition (co-sponsored by the great George Takei!) to stand up for Muslims in the U.S., and stand against the fear and xenophobia that threatens our community, our nation, and our world.
History will remember how we responded. Don’t give up.
The Takei petition is legit, and you can damn well bet he’ll help carry that forward. I’d encourage you all to sign it.

When you walk into the Smithsonian’s “Art of the Qur'an” exhibition, you’re met with a book that weighs 150 pounds. The tome, which dates back to the late-1500s, has giant pages that are covered in gold and black Arabic script.
“Somebody spent a lot of time, probably years, to complete this manuscript,” says curator Massumeh Farhad. “… The size tells you a great deal about it. I mean, clearly this was not a manuscript that could have been taken out every day for private reading. This was a manuscript that was intended for public display.”
That manuscript is among more than 50 centuries-old Qurans on display at the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery in Washington, D.C. The exhibition isn’t about the words of the Quran so much as the people who laboriously copied the book, letter by letter. Some of their names are listed (one manuscript was written by a vizier, or prime minister, of the Ottoman Empire), but most of the creators are unknown.

Alhumdulillah
As my 23rd year of life ends in just a few minutes I want to recognize the brightest and darkest moments of the year. These have made me who I am and I'm thankful to be here and be working on my brighter future. I don't know what's going to happen this next year, if I'll accomplish any of my goals, but no matter what does happen I'm thankful for the opportunities I've created, the ones that have been given to me and the ones that are to come. Alhumdulillah.

Whoa, I didn’t realize that it was so deliberate, I honestly thought it was unconscious
Scary, scary.
