i’m so emotional over how matt worded this. it was something special between him and liam, something they knew had been building between their characters. they wanted it to happen in a way that was natural to their characters, and in those moments they felt their characters knowing exactly what was to come for their relationship.

sometimes you don’t need words to start a relationship with someone. sometimes it just happens, and that doesn’t make it any less valid. quiet relationships are just as representative as those where the couple is publicly affectionate and open about their feelings for each other.

but caleb and essek were never going to be the types to shout their love from the rooftops. they had a deep and inherent understanding of who they were to each other and that’s really beautiful.

and matt and liam played it beautifully. the fact that they both knew, they had that connection and understanding, themselves, is something amazing to watch. role playing as these characters for so long obviously became something very personal to them, of course it did. and their synchronicity made for this beautiful and quiet, but incredibly strong, relationship between two broken men who helped each other through the darkest of days.
