Stanhopia tigrina, as it was labled when I grew it. This specimen was growing in a 16" coconut fibre lined wire basket, beneath a Casuarina tree, the needles from which composting into the mix. As buds appeared below the 'pot' it had a light weekly feeding of Potassium Nitrate ,, the plant pictured produced 16 x 9" dia flowers which lasted 4 days before wilting. The perfume attracted attention from 20 metres away.

The manuscript is one of the classic examples of ars subtilior, which requires red notes, or "coloration" to indicate changes in note lengths from their normally written values.
