I'm getting drinks with this girl I went to high school with tonight. I'm extremely nervous about this because I haven't seen her in years and we've never really been friends. I wasn't exactly a loser in high school but I wasn't cool by any means. However, she was arguably the most popular girl at my school and although I'm less inclined to worry about my status these days and I've grown a ton in the past five years, I'm worried I'll see her and feel like high school me again. Like I'll feel nervous and embarrassed and insecure and I won't get to show her that I'm actually an ok person. It's a dumb thing to worry about, but I'm irrationally afraid.
