behind the scenes of Crime and Punishment (2007) directed by Dimitri Svetozaeov (Преступление и наказание by Дмитрий Светозаров)…

I also can't find a higher resolution of that picture with Raskolnikov and Sonya together - so there are two photos, differing in color and resolution. 🥲

There's this photo with most of the cast, which I think was during the scene with Luzhin at the Crystal Palace...... (not everyone is here) people usually do this sorta thing upon finishing the whole filming...

This makes me wonder if they have a photo of the whole cast together????? I can't find any tho. :((((

Fun Fact:

The scene where Raskolnikov kills the pawnbroker:

There were a lot of malfunctions throughout filming the scene lmao

Vladimir Koshevoy (Сергей Перегудов), who acts as Raskolnikov, swings his axe at the wooden mannequin (there was also a rubber replica of Alyona Ivanova’s head); but the axe broke apart and flung throughout the room.

It's not just that, it's also that as he hits the wood - the make-up artist splashed paint to mimic the blood splatter, but that caused a natural reaction within Koshevoy and he fainted 😭😭😭😭 (this is a fact that is apparently well-known among Russian fans).

He also fainted again in the scene of ‘killing’ Lizaveta. Koshevoy himself said that he got too into character that– even though he knew it was fake blood that poured through mini plastic tubes– he was surprised that it happened so naturally, which had also scared the whole crew. 💀💀💀

(This is the end!!!! I believe I wanted to add some more in the post but I’m not sure now 😭 I might post later in the future… also need to find the sources of which i based the interview on and the story, so i might update this post!)

my obsessive researching on the 2007 Crime and Punishment - has led me to adding the actor of Raskolnikov, Vladimir Koshevoy, on VK (technically Russian facebook 😭😭😭)

IM SORRY IM ON GAP YEAR SO I HAVE SO MUCH FREE TIME

Like with the interviews I read and videos I watched of him and everything… I began to admire him more and more 😭😭😭

He’s also an ally of the lgbtq+ (he played two gay characters: Felix Yusupov in ‘Grigory R’, and Hurricane Rita in ‘Leo & Hurricane’), despite the prejudice in Russia. He isn’t ashamed of it!!! Especially in his age (he’s 46 atm, time flies), so I HIGHLY respect him for that.

The actor, Vladimir Koshevoy (Владимир Кошевой) who plays Raskolnikov, was suggested to find and listen to music- specified for each episode- in order to get in character and determine the behavior of Raskolnikov.

Music he listened to were 'destructive' (in his opinion and he quotes, "Dostoyevsky should have everything that is, a lyrical waltz, a soul-twisting march, and an incomprehensible creak of something...").

He mentions classical music like; Vivaldi, Schnittke, Gubaidulina, Karavajchuk, Arvo Pärt, etc...

I noticed that no one has ever posted on the behind the scenes of Crime and Punishment, 2007 by director Dimitri Svetozaeov (Преступление и наказание by Дмитрий Светозаров)….

So I took the reigns and ventured into the DEPTHS (i mean me literally going on every russian social media I came across; VK, Yandex, ok.ru… for the entire day because I have a lot of free time) to find these photos 🥲🥲

I've really been trying to find high-quality stills, but it's all mixed up... some have watermarks, some have CRISP, CRYSTAL CLEAR quality, some have absolute dump fire resolution lmao-

Fun fact:

I also read a bunch of interviews and news articles (unfortunately, idk Russian so I used google translate).

During the bridge scene after Raskolnikov leaves Razumikhin’s room, he gets whipped for walking in the middle of the road:

Apparently, the actor of Raskolnikov - Vladimir Koshevoy (Владимир Кошевой) almost suffocated because the whip wrapped around his throat. He ended up with a red mark on his neck and the makeup artists had to cover it for a week.💀💀

You might be wondering how this happened: he was meant to wear these plastic ‘shields’ underneath, but they had to take it off because it was visible on camera. They couldn’t hit him on the back without these protections - so they hit him near the arm but— yeah.

I kind of think the lack of photos has to do with some deletion of sites... I noticed that a few sites the photos were linked to were broken :(

Also— I always thought Razumikhin’s jacket was a lighter shade of black (compared to Raskolnikov). I didn’t know it was GREEN.
