Hi, I'm Trace (he/it)! I'm an Achillean Transmasc nonbinary guy who made this blog as a way to talk about my experiences and meet people like me. I'm also alterhuman and autistic.

I'm a lover, not a fighter, but fair warning that I may reblog trace amounts (pun intended) of discourse to this blog, and occasionally share my thoughts on it.

It's a mixed experience having complex feelings about gender roles. Because while it would do a lot of good to abolish them entirely, I can't deny that a vast amount of my euphoria sources come from specific ways of looking or behaving that are associated with masculinity.

On the one hand, yes, they're stereotypical. Yes, it would be harmful to hold every man to those standards and cast out anyone that doesn't fit.

Isn’t it funny how when someone doesn’t see trans men’s contributions to anything, they probably don’t notice until you point it out and then they just guess trans men aren’t trying or just don’t involve themselves? As if we’re not a diverse group of people with our own interests, desires, motivations, etc.?

But then when they do see us, when we’re making music, writing books, crafting theory, discussing our oppression under cispatriarchy, we’re cringe and wrong and stupid at best and actively evil and trying to hurt women at worst? As if we can’t be good at anything and our sole motivation for existing as men is to be an enemy towards all of womanhood?

Okay, why does it FEEL like the entire LGBT community just orbits around trans women, "the most oppressed identity to ever exist"?

Can't call yourself it/it's, that's a slur for trans women

Can't call yourself a femboy, that's a slur against trans women

Can't use the term "transandrophobia", that's a term that's trying to "steal the oppression" from trans women and their term "transmisogyny"

Can't call yourself a "puppy", that's a term used in transfem culture

Can't own a Blahaj, that's exclusively in trans women's culture

Can't call yourself a "tranny", that's a slur that's been used EXCLUSIVELY for trans women

Can't call out that trans men are the highest rate of sexual assault amongst the entire LGBT community, because "trans women have it worse"

No hate towards our sisters, but genuinely I can't stand this entitlement and oppression olympics. It just feels like we're always pushed to the side.

Not listening to anyone who says transandrophobia isn't real and then says shit like "transandrobro." Trans men came up with a word for a form of oppression, anyone harassing them for it is part of the problem. No, trans men do not automatically have male privilege for being trans men, and no it is not misogynistic to recognize that.

"stop making everything about trans men!!!!" nothing is ever allowed to be about trans men. can't talk about trans men under trans posts, or "women's" issues posts, or even our own separate posts we make to specifically talk about us. we have no representation, our rights are being stripped away and no one wants to acknowledge it, we are being forcibly detransitioned while the world carries on like nothing is wrong. our own community doesn't want to talk about us.

I'm fine with people talking about the specific issues trans women and transfems face, but it's hypocritical to not allow trans men and transmascs to do the same. Transmisogyny, exorsexism, and transandrophobia are all real types of oppression people actually face. And finally, the TMA/TME binary is inherently intersexist and exorsexist.

And before you say transandrophobia isn't real because "androphobia doesn't exist," it's not trans women who are raped to force pregnancy and detransition. It's not trans women who are called whiny little girls for speaking out against their oppression. I'm so fucking tired of this discourse but it would be wrong not to speak out.

i have gotten some very odd anons about this post that i’m choosing to ignore. but i am going to double down on this. no i don’t care if girls watch gay porn or imagine themselves as a gay person or wonder what it would be like to have gay sex. so many people imprison themselves by thinking they could never be gay and/or trans. well i’m telling them they better watch out. being gay and/or trans is real. and it could happen to YOU. as a matter of fact i sincerely hope it does

This is precisely how I realized I wanted to be a man, and not just nonbinary. When it occurred to me that I didn't just want to see boys fucking, I wanted to BE the boys fucking.

happy autism awareness day to all the girls who had “ friends” growing up who were actually bullying them . to the girls who always sat alone in the grass and wondered why nobody wanted to talk . to the girls who spoke to animals like they were listening . to the girls who created a little world in their room . to the girls who always felt ashamed for how deeply they love things and how passionately they enjoyed media . to the girls who covered their ears when they were overwhelmed by everything . to the girls who carrying a special thing around to feel safe . to the girls who never understood what they did wrong to feel so lonely . to the girls who were diagnosed later in life because they weren’t little boys who liked trains. you are so special and beautiful and you’re not worse for it, you love deeply and that is so wonderful please never try to push that down . I'm a little late to the party, but adding: happy belated autism awareness month to all the girls who told themselves for years that they didn't deserve to "complain" because they were "never bullied," but who spent their school years feeling different, othered, and invisible. To all the girls who told themselves that they should be grateful they weren't getting physically shoved into lockers or having actual insults yelled at them because that was their only understanding of "bullying."

It didn't have to be physical and visible to affect you. Being treated as "atypical" hurts. Being excluded, even if it's not explicit, hurts. And you're allowed to feel that. You're allowed to need time to heal, even if others don't recognize the wound.
