New intro post. It's been a month and I hate my old one. Lets go.

Hi I'm Chips. Call me Chips. I use he/they pronouns and I'm a trans guy. Gay aroace, idk. I am an adult (18), but I'm really bad at it.

I like PJSK, Splatoon, Tomodachi Life, my OCs, Divinity 2, Dad Music (tm), and other shit I can't think of right now.

So many of them are just outright misgendering people because they think they your gender better than you

obviously. I think it’s great to talk 2 people about gender and encourage exploring it

it pisses me off when people use incorrect pronouns or misgender someone like this

I miss my old city so badly it hurts. I lived there for 18 years and it’s already been almost 2 months since I moved away.

I want to go back, but I can’t, because things will have changed and the people I love will be off at college and we’re already growing distant.

I miss my old house, my neighborhood, the park near my house, all the trees and trails. Good god I miss the trees. The Midwest is beautiful, but it’s nothing like the Pacific Northwest was. There’s just so much less out here. Where are the streams and ponds and trails through every neighborhood. Where are the trees, where are the ferns, where is the moss and the forget-me-nots and the blueberry bushes.

I miss high school. I’m so glad I don’t have to keep doing high school, but I miss it so badly. The last 3 years were the best years of my life so far. I made friends and I finally had anxiety medication and I was interested in my classes and I loved my teachers and now it’s gone. The school is moving to a different building, so even if I were to ever visit, it wouldn’t be the same. I’m not really sure what I’m supposed to do if I’m not doing high school.

I miss my friends. Everything kind of went to shit around the start of the year and all of my friend groups exploded, but things got better after that. My friends and I were finally able to drive and hang out without parent permission. I miss the spontaneous “wanna grab breakfast/lunch/dinner/ice cream/slushies?” texts. I miss being able to sit on my friend’s couch and do puzzles and force each other to listen to bad music and eat so many snacks. I miss cooking with them. I miss going camping with them. Even though that was a one-time thing, it’s gotta be one of my favorite memories.

I miss feeling like I knew what I could do if things didn’t turn out the way I planned. I miss stability. Two weeks from now I’ll be laying in my dorm room bed hours away from home and thousands of miles away from my true home.

I don’t know what to do and I don’t think there really is anything to do. Time moves on, and I have to as well. I don’t like it.

this might be a crazy thing to say but I think the trans community and the greater queer community in general does a horrible job at including trans men and transmascs, and is in fact incredibly hostile and isolating.

we need to get more supportive of trans men and transmascs. compassion is an infinite resource and there’s no excuse not to be supportive and accepting.

As a therapist specializing in religious trauma, here are your general flavors.

Catholic: fire and brimstone wrapped in ceremony. Obey.

Baptist: No true redemption because you will never have enough faith.

Protestant: non-denominational with a bit of an ego about being in bible study

Methodist: Evangelists. If you're not saving others, you might as well take yourself to hell.

Presbyterian: Catholicism with crushing personal responsibility.

Pentecostal: Talking in tongues. That's it. That's the trauma. Iykyk.

Non-denominational: People who would leave Christianity but don't know how and value the community despite the teachings being antithical to progress

Acoustic Guitar: Low pressure, cool uncle. Goatees and bald guys. Leaks into your life like poison because it's bright and fun and easy. Youth pastors being arrested for sex crimes.

with love. you have to fact check shit. yes you. you still have to fact check shit. a lot of people are great at fact checking stuff they don’t want to be true, but somehow are still absolute ass at fact checking stuff that’s rhetorically convenient to them. even people my age, who I KNOW grew up doing internet/bibliography literacy workshops, and being warned not to believe anything that isn’t reliably sourced, people who DO harp on fact checking conservative output or whatever, are still kneejerk sharing unsourced shit that is partially or wholly untrue or misleading, because it suits whatever narrative they’re pursuing in that moment, without even a “take this with a grain of salt”. fact check!!!!!! look at the sources!!!!! yes it’s a drag!!! do it!!!!!
