Astrid Anderson ll 26 ll Dragonologist
Anyone who knows Astrid would use words to describe her like strong, strict, and thick headed. Antonyms would be warm, caring, and soft. If the word giddy was ever associated with Astrid most would simply scoff and tell you how crazy you must be to think Astrid Hofferson could ever be giddy. Those people are the ones who don't know about Woody Anderson.
Now Astrid's life doesn't revolve around Woody, but he is the highlight of her day and the reason she has any brightness whatsoever. After finally graduating from Hogwarts, Astrid took a job full time as a dragon trainer alongside Woody at her father's range. It was a surprise though when Astrid asked if she would be allowed to live not only in the trainer's village but in the same place Woody held residence. Her father never saw it coming and was delighted over the thought that his daughter had actually found happiness.
Astrid lives, breathes, and dreams dragons. There is anything that consumes her more than the gigantic beasts. It surprises all on their first trip to the range to see one of the fiercest trainers that the reserve has ever seen is a 5 foot nothing 100 pounds when soaking wet girl, and it's more of the ritual now at the reserve to get your arse handed to you by Astrid before you're accepted among the trainers. She loves her job more than almost anything in the world and couldn't imagine doing anything else, there's only one thing she possibly loves more and that's Woody.
After years of being together Astrid finally consented to marriage in order to making Woody happy. In her mind marriage had always been a daunting thing. Her own mother had abandoned her father when she was young and her hopes for marriage were very low. But now 6 years later Astrid couldn't picture herself without the name Anderson and Woody at her side. As Astrid always likes to say "The couple that trains together, stays together".
Life began to drastically change for Astrid when she hit the age of twenty five. It started off with her father falling ill. Soon everything was falling out of place and when he died Astrid felt the life exit her own body. She couldn't eat, she couldn't sleep, she couldn't function after the loss of her best friend and father. It was as if her world had been turned upside down. The reserve would have fallen into shambles if it hadn't been for her husband stepping up and making sure everything continued going.
Midst the mess there was one ray of sunshine. Eight months after her fathers' death and a week after her 26th birthday, Astrid found out that the stomach bug she had contracted was a much bigger bug. One that would last for approximately nine months. Woody was thrilled and because of his excitement, Astrid soon became excited with the idea that she would be giving life herself. With tragedy had come the greatest news she had ever received.
Astrid has fallen into the role of pregnancy pretty well considering she never wanted children. Sometimes she's bed ridden with sickness, and other times her emotions get the best of her, but most of the time she's doing really well. Now six months into her pregnancy everything's starting to become real between the fact she has taken over full time management of the reserve, over training, and finding out new things about the baby every day. Astrid always wanted a life of adventure but never did she expect to find it in the most unlikely of places.
