ooc. when isaac was first born, arthur helped eliza out of an obligation he felt towards her ( and to prove that he’d be a better father than his own ), and he didn’t realize how much he actually enjoyed being a father till he was mourning his death. sometimes he’d have to force himself away from the two because he felt such a calm peace there. but ultimately, he couldn’t drag himself away from his wild life enough to fully settle down.

arthur is practically dozing off as he sits by the fire. it hadn’t been a hard day, just a long one. it must show a bit as he really hadn’t had any time to brush his hair before he came into camp that evening, because the next thing he knows, he feels gentle hands in his hair with a comb, brushing out the dirt from when he took a tumble earlier, and a stray leaf he hadn’t realize that were there. he quickly glances behind him to see miss tilly give him a soft smile.--“Oh, uh. Thanks. Guess I was lookin’ too much like a mess.”arthur feels himself flush at the affection, but allows himself lean into her hands as she continues to brush. it feels nice, and he feels himself start to doz off again.
