So this is super disappointing. i love Goulet Pens, or did. There's no excuse for this.
And of course, the price:
i sent an email in response to the marketing email I received advising me these are 40% off (jesus), and i'm not sure if i can expect a response, much less action. This company has grown considerably since i first started shopping with them, and they always seemed like genuinely cool people. This is disheartening at the least and disgusting at the worst. i don't think anyone in a business can get away with this kind of ignorance, and that's being very charitable and giving the utmost benefit of the doubt.
And LAMY....i absolutely adored their pens, and while FOMO is stupid and i don't need every single special color they come out with every year, the Safari is genuinely a fantastic pen, user-friendly, great for beginners, and good for people, at least me, with bad hands and joints. But this crosses a huge line. i'm not gonna to throw out my existing pens or anything, that shit's expensive, but i don't think i'm gonna to be buying anything LAMY going forward unless there's a big, big change and honestly it would require some serious action on their part beyond just removing this shit.
Edit: i I'm not on any socials outside of tumblr, and not really one to try blowing stuff up. i only sent an email in response, but if anyone wants to reach out to Goulet on socials or whatever, might be worth a shot. They genuinely used to seem like a relatively small company that would listen to people, so it's worth a shot.
Oy, so i am very late to this particular party. Turns out there's more behind this than simply jkr filth. It looks like things blew up a bit in 2024 due to myriad other issues. i actually think this reddit post is pretty good, written well, with the OP aware of bias etc, and anyway it's worth a read. Exercise critical thinking etc, but yeah, i'm done with the Goulets and their business, and et tu, LAMY? get wrecked.
