Terribly sorry to hear of the passing of Aron Eisenberg earlier today (September 21, 2019).

Deep Space 9′s Nog is a wonderfully and surprisingly complex character, one of Trek’s best, because he represents what Trek at its heart is all about: the breaking of stereotype, developing of cross-cultural relationships, striving for achievement, and coping with loss and setbacks to emerge on the other side, changed but resolute. Eisenberg’s wonderful performance, which skillfully developed Nog’s nuance and charm over seven seasons, was inspiring and heartfelt.

This is a loss, for sure. My best wishes for everyone in coping.

The best thing about Kira Nerys is that she is strong and brutal, she won’t hold punches, but she’s also kind and hurt and lonely and she is allowed to be all of these things. No one thinks she’s weak because sometimes she cries, sometimes she’s sad and scared and at no point is that ever even implied to take away from her strength. On the surface she seems like the classic strong woman with a shitty background who has no emotions but the reality is that’s just not realistic, of course she feels things but it doesn’t make her less of a fighter and there is not a single moment in the whole show that makes it seem like her feelings are a girly weakness. Anyway, I could genuinely rant for weeks about how complicated and wonderful Kira Nerys as a character is but I won’t.

Sonequa Martin-Green has done something amazing with her portrayal of Burnham, in that she is the most believable “stranger in a strange land” character I have ever seen. She is simultaneously vulcan, with the speech patterns and facial non-expressions and thought processes, a logical, rational officer who is also undeniably human, in the most brutally honest way and I love her for it, because it makes all the emotions she does show more amazing for it.

What my point actually is though, is that every time Michael Burnham smiles my heart fucking stops because I am perfectly aware of how rare that is and I CANNOT FUCKING BREATH WILL YOU PLEASE STOP FOR THE LOVE OF G-D.

Also I love that her “comfortable default” is very flat, very vulcan. And it takes a lot of either joy or anguish to get her out of that. And when she does, it is either a wonder, or absolutely heartbreaking.

i can support this s7 outfit still being full red but changing the design??? removing the belt??? making it look even more like a jumpsuit and that MATERIAL??????? WHY????? the top is fine until it just CUTS OFF with that giant seam and it’s only saved by the color still being bright red. anyway moving on, kira’s styling peaked in s6 but the longer hair is also cute so 5/10
