Was weedeatin/mowin yesterday, finishing up by a gas meter, and a baby bunny came hopping out 😭 so ofc I went to pick him up (I know I know but he was gonna get hurt bear with me here) I turn around, 5 more heading into the road 🫠 so I run out there cuz a truck was coming, I’m gathering all these baby bunnies in my shirt, neighbor man comes out n was like “wtf are u doin dude” so I had to explain baby bunnies 💀 n he helped me put ‘em somewhere safe n sound with other nests 🥺 but whys this stuff always gotta happen to me 😭

It's actually such a fun power move to, now that I pass as a cis man on the regular, sometimes add a he/him pronoun pin to my outfit just to out myself as trans. Was I already going to get called he/him/sir? Yes. But do I now signal to all the other queers around me that I am in the community and ergo safe for them to express themselves around me? Yes!!

The movie Raw has a guided tutorial. It's how my husband learned how to pee standing up.

Step 1: put toilet seat up (if applicable)
Step 2: feet shoulder width apart (if at toilet have shins/knees touching or right in front of bowl) with pants down far enough to allow that (down to knees for me)
Step 3: hook fingers on either side of tdick and pull back to the sides
Step 4: jut hips out forward a bit but not too far, kinda aim urethra with your fingers (hard to explain sry)
Step 5: piss. Adjust aim if necessary.
As with every unfamiliar stp method, I recommend trying in the shower until you have a good enough feel for it to not piss your pants or all over the floor.

Graced by Geckolepis typica from Madagascar. I love that they’re quite round creatures and then they have these dainty little toes. Also, their scales are full bone and both scale and skin come off when they get grabbed, which is…unpleasant. Consequently, catching these geckos for research without damaging them requires special techniques. 19th century researchers used bundles of cotton wool, but I imagine this wasn’t very effective, because cotton still has a lot of friction and the friction would pull the skin and scales off. In my (quite extensive) experience, the best technique is to carefully and quickly flick the geckos from their tree trunk or branch into an open dry plastic bag using a finger or stick.

like, of course it harms them but... can they grow back? like how some lizards can drop their tails and eventually the tails grow back
Not only do they grow back, but they come back so well that we cannot even tell where they have ripped off before. This is very weird, because when a lizard loses its tail, it is very obvious where it has been lost and regrown. Not so these chaps. They seek out a humid place to hide, and within a few weeks, skin and scales have started to regrow. The fact that they can do this so well is the reason a team has just sequenced their genome. I believe it is hoped that the skin regeneration tech they have built into their cells could eventually be harnessed for human skin grafts.
New bottom surgery idea! Now it might be scaley when it grows in but of course some would consider that a bonus...
I'm really looking forward to being able to go on T, even if it does mean I start balding earlier. My grandpa was bald on top by 35, and my dad had his hair thinning by 40. My dad passed away a year ago at 48, so I don't know what age he would have gone fully bald by.
But the idea that T would make me look more like my dad has just been really really comforting, even if the features I get from it aren't 'conventionally attractive'. It's fine. My dad wasn't either, and he still made it work and thought he was beautiful.
When I was little my dad read me the book 'The Twits' by Roald Dahl, and most of it is just about nasty old people being horrible to each other. But there's a passage at the beginning that always stuck with me more than the rest.
It's a passage that says that a lot of the time, having 'pretty' features isn't actually what makes you look nice. Because even if you have thin hair, and a wonky nose, and a double chin, and stick-out teeth, if you have happy, kind thoughts then they will shine out of your face like rainbows, and you'll always look lovely.
That was the kind of pretty my dad was. And it's always sort of been the kind of pretty I wanted to be.

This is extremely common among chickens because a) like most birds, they only have one functioning ovary and b) their ovary does a LOT of hormonal heavy lifting in the sex department. So they're one ovary malfunction away from their body going "guess we're doin' rooster now" and growing different feathers and having them start crowing.

Hi Hugo, can I ask you a question about T? I'm pre-transition and worried about osteoporosis, did your doctor ever warn that that might be a problem once you stop producing estrogen? Thanks have a good day
Im not a doctor so dont take my word as law, but from my understanding, osteoporosis only happens when there's no hormones whatsoever. Thats why I won't be getting a hysterectomy anytime soon. My access to testosterone is rocky in missouri, so I'd like to keep some sort of hormone pumping through me
Heyo anon, not sure if I'm reading this right but specifically if you are worried about starting testosterone decreasing your estrogen enough to put you at risk of osteoporosis, you don't need to fear! My doc told me that we might need to put me on an estrogen blocker when we upped my t dose, because higher testosterone means higher estradiol. Your body converts t to e through a process called aromatization (same for cis guys!)
With a hysterectomy, that aromatization of t is a crucial way to keep up the estradiol. Which is why a lot of post-menopausal women are prescribed low doses of t - not enough to transition, just enough to keep the bone hurty away. So in that case, transitioning can help keep your hormones balanced and decrease the risk of osteoporosis! This is also why my partner was recently advised to not get a hysterectomy until he is on some dose of testosterone, like op is dealing with.
Plus, I have to get blood work done every six months to get my prescription re-upped, so we will quickly see if something is out of balance and be able to take steps to correct it. In Summary: if you want to transition, take the dive today!
I'll be honest sometimes transmascs do get male privilege. Like I made this cake and took it into work for my last birthday and I'll be honest with you guys it was the ugliest thing I have ever wrought upon this earth. Absolutely wretched creation. I was filled to the brim with shame everytime my eyes befell my horrid homunculus of chocolate and peanut butter. But other than looks it was fine and there was no time to fix it so I took it in anyway and all my middle-aged female coworkers were like "awwww you tried your best I'm sure it tastes good :)"
I don't think they would have been that nice if I was a woman is all I'm saying
