Imagine having to deal with people offline and online who will try to paint you out as some type of abuser or creep who's trying to take advantage of cis women. Not only that but people in your own community will try to paint you as the "favorite" one to the fake allies.

Years upon years I have spent trying to convince people but I am not a predator, I've been fighting for the right to be seen as a human being and not some monster by fake allies and transphobic people.

Only for me to open this damn app and my jaw dropping everytime because my and many others experiences are being fictionalized to make it look like we are the favorite ones in the community.

I'm just tired. I'm tired of feeling that my experience as a trans woman it doesn't exist to people within my own community. I'm so freaking tired. You guys don't want to listen to us because you don't think we have anything to say but we do!!

Cis woman will use this argument a lot to justify their bigotry towards trans women. As if this doesn't exclude other cisgender women who can't go through periods or have children of their own.

Lately on good old TikTok I've noticed lots of cis woman weaponize their own oppression to justify their transphobia (hell even homophobia) both to trans men and trans women and I'm sick of it.

Because most of their arguments are inherently sexist and misogynistic. Like do I have to explain that dumbing down a "real" women to their ability to give birth isn't misogynistic??

This isn't really an accurate comparison. Trans women don't get to headcanon male characters as transfem without backlash. Transfem headcanons are constantly dismissed with things like "they make more sense as transmasc," "they're just a feminine guy," or they're mocked outright because of transphobia and transmisogyny.

Jax from TADC is a good example of a CANNON trans woman character getting her identity stripped away from her in favor of being a trans man instead.

Both transmasc and transfem headcanons get pushback. The backlash just doesn't look exactly the same.

obviously performative allies don’t actually support trans women, that’s why I said performative. and yes this dissonance does exist, where people claim to support one but either forget or simply don’t care for the rest, surface level is enough for them. it exists, just like trans women being treated like they’re subhuman exists. i’m not out here making broad statements like only one thing is true and everything else is false. multiple things can be happening at once and yes trans women are not supported by the world by an absolute landslide, but that’s not the situation being addressed in the post. it’s a post made to poke fun at a certain niche of people. that’s it. not making a sweeping generalization of the trans woman experience. I don’t think there’s any single short meme post someone can make that would encapsulate every trans experience and world view with utmost accuracy. I’m sorry that this can be interpreted as transmisogyny because that was not the intention and I hope I explained myself well enough

I get that your intention wasn't to attack trans women, and I appreciate you explaining where you were coming from. I also agree that multiple forms of transphobia can exist at the same time.

My issue isn't that the specific type of performative ally you're describing doesn't exist. It's that the meme presents support for trans women as the "default" performative position, when in reality trans women are often the primary targets of fearmongering and dehumanization. We're frequently portrayed as predators, dangerous, or deceptive, and that rhetoric is widespread.

So when I see a meme framed as "I support trans rights! ...I support trans women!" it can feel like it's reinforcing the idea that trans women are the group people are socially rewarded for supporting, when that often isn't our lived reality. That's why I made the reversed version—it wasn't to deny that the people you're talking about exist, but to point out that the opposite dynamic also exists and is often overlooked.

I believe your intent wasn't transmisogynistic. My criticism is about the framing and the message it can unintentionally send, not about accusing you of personally hating trans women.

i think transfems should be allowed to be good at sports.

sometimes a trans woman wins against a cis woman. sometimes a cis woman wins against another cis woman too. yet only one of them is allowed to win without facing consequences.

it's not enough to support transfems in sports if your support hinges on us being bad at them.
