I'm not proship or antiship, idc what you do as long as there are no real people being harmed. However, if it has the potentional to trigger somone (incest, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, etc) then tag it. Both sides have extreme issues with toxicity, getting aggressive and trauma dumping on people won't solve anything especially if they are a minor. If you want to help someone who is trying to cope with trauma offer them advice like alternative coping skills, self-care, and resources instead. If someone does not want your help leave them alone.

transmisogyny and transandrophobia both exist. Trans men do not have systemic privilege but they can have conditional social privilege, this does not mean they have power over trans women. Trans men are not any more likely to be transmisogynists the same as trans women are not any more likely to be transandrophobes.

tme/tma critical. A lot of you use it to hide behind your misogyny, transphobia, exorsexism, and intersexism and frankly you can't even hide it well.

body positivity has a lot of issues with toxic positivity, focuses too much on attractiveness rather than acceptance and self love/self care, and too many people who claim to believe in body positivity are extremely hypocritical towards people with a different body type from theirs. I'm very critical of body positivity and align myself more towards body neutrality.

Policing someone's sexuality makes you sound like an incel. Someone being les4les has no affect on your life, if they're being biphobic call them biphobes but they are not biphobic because they are les4les. You aren't owed attraction.

if i could give one piece of advice to newly transitioning trans men, it's that it's 100% possible to find a community of people (including women!) who don't treat you as a threat, and the people trying to convince you otherwise are not your friends

Also, perhaps, have we considered that it's actually really bad that we treat closeted trans women (and closeted nonbinary people, and frankly cis men too) this way? Like. It's a bad thing that trans women are treated like distrustful monsters for """"being men"""" before coming out by one demographic and then are also treated like distrustful monsters after coming out for being trans by another. That's not a sign of a culture with a healthy relationship with gender in the slightest!!!

Have we considered that treating people as inherently dangerous or distrustful by virtue of their gender alone is in fact, the very gender essentialism that perpetuates radical feminism in our spaces and that is something that we should be working on stamping out?

I am genuinely sorry that people across multiple different identity lines experience this shit because no trans person should be treated like a distrustful monster just by virtue of their gender identity before or after coming out.

i try, i really do try, to not be mean but. it’s so very obvious how most people don’t see nonbinary folk as People too. what i mean by this is pretty straightforward: to the average internet user, enbies exist solely on tumblr or twitter. they’re always ugly and fat and have badly dyed and styled hair. they say they're trans but do nothing to transition, and expect you to respect them no matter what, getting very pissed off if you don't. they’re either cringe 30 years old or cringe 15 years old. this extends to real life, of course. they’re that classmate that wears a bunny hat, or the messy roommate that never cleans, or the barista who makes your 6 am frappuccino (the only thing she- I MEAN- they're good for). they live in a Discord server where they tw food and grass, and an extensive vent channel. they always have many self-diagnoses and disabilities at once, and maybe even own a rainbow cane with trinkets. they always have a random gofundme for their partner, their cat, themselves, to "escape their abusive home", to pay their half of the rent, etc. if an adult, they're "kinky" but also asexual, and they might commit the sin of being polyamorous, which explains everything else. they call themselves punk but their "battle jacket" has a minecraft bee patch. they only listen to Will Wood and hyperpop. th elist goes on.

all of that surely painted a picture in your mind. well, that elusive enby or multiple enbies you're imagining right now are most likely real. there are real, tangible, existing people who fit most if not all of the aforementioned criteria. they don't exist solely as a contruct or a concept of The Cringe Nonbinary. by only seeing them as a collection of stereotypes, you forget they still exist and will continue to exist no matter how much it annoys you, bothers you, or even makes you laugh.

and the thing is, there are nonbinary people who are NOTHING like that. there are nonbinaries who are the complete opposite, who despise such stereotypes to the point of joining in the ridicule. who hate it so much they purposefully try their best to escape it or to avoid it, to not fit any ANY of the criteria. there are some who would be happier or truer to themselves if they were like that, but can't allow themselves to do so. out of fear, out of worry. and there are some who know they fit some or all the criteria and are terrified on the daily, who know they will never be taken seriously, who know this bleeds into real life. who know they only exist as The Cringe Nonbinary, and cannot do anything about it.

nonbinary people, cringe or not, stereotypical or not, are Real and are People. they need to eat, to sleep, to go to the doctor, to study, to live. they take the bus, they go to the grocery store, they sit in the park. they play on the same videogame lobbies as you, they use the same social media as you. they love animals like you, they enjoy movies like you. they cry like you, they love like you, they hate like you. they exist like you, they're people like you. they're beings like you. they're real like you. and maybe YOU are a walking stereotype, too.

Your (gentle) reminder that you don't have to say afab/amab. Think about what you are trying to convey, and use that instead. Unless you are, quite literally, trying to convey your assigned sex, don't use afab/amab. Say penis/vagina/vulva/testes/etc, say man/woman/person, say raised/socialized a girl/boy/neither, say went through estrogenizing/androgenizing puberty, say exactly what you want to say, or don't say it at all.

Here are some examples. I'm sure others can do better but I am sick and this is what I came up with

Here’s my incredibly controversial take for today: I do not believe in “transmasc” vs “transfem” culture.

Everything I’ve seen that's described as “culture” has never been specific to transmascs or transfems in the slightest. And honestly? With the way these are being used to accuse the other group of “stealing” or “co-opting” their culture, its just creating more division in the trans community. It also feels like a reinvention of gendered spaces and is incredibly gatekeepy.

I'm making a very long anonymous confession here, but this whole thing really pisses me off. Yes some people (terfs, trolls, and transmisogynists) are being bigoted in their critiques of miss forcefem, but they're a minority of the people involved in the current goings on, and the only thing that makes this similar to kiwifarms lolcowing is the fact that there's screenshots being taken of posts.

I'm intimately familiar with how KFers act, not because I am or ever was one, but quite the opposite. I was horrified by the notion of being stalked by them, though, even if I'm small potatoes and they never did find me. I saw what they were like, I know how those fucks operate.

What's happening on tumblr is NOTHING like lolcowing. The second they know your deadname, it's all they'll refer to you as. You're only ever misgendered, intentionally and maliciously. Doxxed, followed, harassed directly and constantly. They archive everywhere you could possibly be on the internet, and they make archives of your accounts on websites you likely haven't been on in years if they can tie it back to your current identity at all. They call you slurs constantly. The bold ones go up to you, manipulate you, bait and pressure you into making more "lolmilk" entertainment for them like a puppet on strings.

They say they do it for the greater good, while they're constantly racist, transphobic, homophobic, ableist, any possible bigotry that could possibly get under your skin because they are fucking right wing in nature. They "target" zoophiles and pedophiles, while the majority if their targets were minorities they prodded and puppeted into acting out, however that may be. Everything you do or say is archived and made fun of, even the most mundane things. You are no longer a person. You are a cow to milk until you leave the internet or kill yourself, and even then I don't think they ever truly let you go.

As opposed to, what. Telling people, like sa, csa, and incest survivors that you're directly advocating for the people that hurt you? Claiming criticism of Epstein is mostly antisemetic? Being White French and saying Black and Indigenous Turtle Islanders benefit from the systems trying to sterilize, whitewash, or kill us all off? Saying transfem rapists and pedophiles should be welcomed into the trans community while butches, trans men, and even trans women that disagree with your niche and insular community are all rapists and abusers? Calling warning about a rapist's (with multiple transfeminine victims! the people they claim to want to protect!) birthday trip gofundme social murder and calling her victims transmisogynistic monsters? Degendering and dehumanizing every transfem who disagrees with you even slightly?

I won't deny some of the outcry against her is bigoted. There were sockpuppets aplenty slinging slurs like they were paid to do it, and radfems latching onto any post criticizing her and her circle, feeding into her narrative that pedophilia and incest are intrinsic to transfemininity and using that as a cudgel against all the trans women and fems against what she espews.

But there is a massive difference between telling someone they're being bigoted and their rhetoric is harmful, and trying to get someone to kill themselves for your entertainment because they were a little cringy while being a minority. There is a difference between telling others that these women have strangled people, burnt them with cigarettes, advocated repeatedly and publically for actual self admitted pedophiles being around children because harm can only ever come from the family (but incestuous rape is hot when I do it to my underage sister!), and following you in person, contacting your family, and making sure you never have a quiet day for the rest of your life.

I don't feel safe calling myself transgender if these are the people trying to make themselves the face of my identity. They make me want to go back into the closet. I don't want to be associated with rapists. I don't want to know that the people in my community would think my cousin molesting me, and telling me I would be a pretty girlfriend for them was hot.

KFers make me wanna kill myself. ISFF and her circles make me wish I was never born in the first place.

Yeah I'll kick the hornets nest: you should not be making egg jokes about strangers, especially to their face. These kinds of jokes are potentially damaging to closeted trans people, because you don't know someone's situation. Maybe they already know they're trans, but are in an unsafe situation. Maybe they just aren't ready to address it. Maybe they'll start doubting if they actually want to transition or they only think they want to because a bunch of people told them they do. And it's especially bad if, say, you're making a transfem egg joke to a trans man who isn't open about his transness, which could lead to serious dysphoria (and vice versa for trans women). Not to mention how terrible it is to do this to nonbinary people. Do not joke about a nonbinary person being a binary trans egg, it's extremely disrespectful and transphobic to do so. And it's hard not to notice how implying someone is an egg only extends towards binary genders. Imagine someone is doubting their gender, and everyone is telling them they're obviously a trans man egg. They might end up forcing themself into that binary because they think that's what everyone wants.

All of this isn't to say you can't kindly and respectfully say "the things you've been saying sound very similar to the trans experience, I think it's possible you may be trans, but ofc it's up to you to decide whether or not to look into it". I very much encourage that, especially if the person is your friend and seems to be struggling. The thing that's really bad is making jokes at the possible closeted trans person's expense, or thinking of "cracking an egg" as something to brag about and not something to help someone through because you care about them
