I have a few thoughts on Mael Stronghart's overall character design, particularly his clothing

His overcoat looks to be a combination of a clergyman's cossock and a trench coat (shown below)

His waistcoat is also low-cut, which, while fashionable now, was unheard of in Victorian times unless it was specifically for dinner suit and wearing a starch front shirt or shirt with a "bib" (also shown below)

You see, here's the thing: men of the time did not show the white of their shirt when going outside because that shirt was essentially considered their underwear, so the waistcoats would go almost to the neck with the remainder of the shirt being covered by a kravat. It was widely considered indecent to have shirts so openly exposed

Basically, what I'm saying is for Victorian standards Stronghart dresses like a slutty priest.

I initially thought the same, but I came across this commentary left by concept artist Kazuya Nuri saying quote, "...Mr Takumi asked for Stronghart to have an intellectual image instead, which gave rise to his current look, more reminiscent of a clergyman."

Come to think of it, there are four different Watsons in Great Ace Attorney. No less!

Doctor John H. Watson. Pretty obvious

Iris Watson. The one who actually writes stories about Holmes and promotes him. Currently is his roommate (also his daughter, but you get what I mean)

Yujin Mikotoba - the true and only friend of Holmes who witnessed all his escapades. The iconic duo

And who's the fourth one, you may ask? Well, it's obviously Ryunosuke himself! He's our own "Watson" in meta-sense: a POV character from whom we, players, witness Holmes' antics and who is here to tell us the story. Who is taught by the great detective's deduction skills in a fun silly minigame. Who is a relatable guy just trying to do his best at his job. What a wonderful Watson you've made, Ryuno!
