Call these numbers plz
Pressuring works, keep pressuring them
This blog is mostly dead, but there are about a thousand of you following it and this is important.
I urge any Americans following this blog to call these above phone numbers. Three out of the four answered and I spoke to a real person on the phone and left a message on the one that was sent to an answering machine. They were all actually very nice and expressed appreciation that we are calling about this and will relay our messages to the senators.
If you are phone shy, like me, I recommend having a script for yourself as not to get tripped up.
Here is what I used:
āMy name is [name]. I am a concerned citizen from [state] and I am calling to implore Senator [Whitehouse or Reed] to call for a full ceasefire in Gaza and an end to military aid to Israel. Thank you so much for your time and for taking citizen concerns seriouslyā
Hell if you contact me to let me know truthfully that you did call these numbers and left a message Iāll do you a little drawing or something.
It's a het ship to YOU. To ME, they are both incredibly bisexual.
Itās my favorite day.
Nice.
Lotor would be proud of yāall.

*CASTLEVANIA SPOILERS*
With the Castlevania ending, I feel like a lot of us wereā¦confused? If thatās the word? And it made me realize something.
A lot of us probably thought, āWell that canāt be right. Everyoneās alive and happy, or got a solid & fulfilling ending.ā Everything in the show was so bloody and terrible and I was expecting at a bittersweet end at best. And we didnāt. We got a happy ending. The happiest ending. Itās something we havenāt (or have barely ever) seen inĀ āmatureā fiction. Thatās why they call it aĀ āfairy-taleā ending. We havenāt seen stories end like that since we were children, and even then we were told it wasnāt real.
When you move onto adult media, it starts to condition you to think that not everything can be good, and itās really more likely for everything to be bad at the end of the story. At best we can only achieve a small amount of happiness, a small amount of joyāand by then weāve already lost so much in the fight. That was the norm, that became ārealityā to us. When they tell you to āgrow upā, they really mean ālose hopeā.
The moment Isaac said he was āinterested in living,ā my sister said she expected someone to kill him at that very moment. Weāve been taught to fear the worst, believe in the worst, and to have our happiness crushed in an instant. Every good ending canāt be true, right? The world doesnāt work like that. Weāve been taught to think in terms of āThings are good right now, so something bad is going to happen soon.ā or āThings are bad right now, and theyāre going to get worse Iām sure.ā
Maybe we need to start thinking more like āThings are good.ā and āThings are bad right now, but we can make it better.ā We can have a happy ending, and a happy start to something new.
I think the Castlevania writers & team wanted to subvert the terrible ending weāve always been expecting. Even if youāve done terrible things in the past, you can redeem yourself if your heart is in the right place. You can still have your happy end. Even though youāre scarred by trauma and violence, you can build yourself a good future. Everyone can be alright in the end. Everything can be alright in the end.
This is how the new cruella movie went right?
This blog only exists because I had a dream that lotor broke into my house and drank a bottle of windex in front of me and there was nothing I could do to stop him.
for those who were wondering, this is the origin of this garbage blog
This is how the new cruella movie went right?
Iām thinking about returning to tumblr to post dumb comics that make my friends laugh but Iām not sure yet
if i do, i feel like i should rebrand since itāll be shitpost comics from various media and non-media but i also donāt really want to rebrand because the origin of this blog is just too fucking funny to me and i donāt want it to be lost to history
Iām thinking about returning to tumblr to post dumb comics that make my friends laugh but Iām not sure yet
Hey again :) I just thought about something u said in a previous ask. "She was really damned if she did, damned if she didnāt." That sums up my frustration with how the narrative treated Allura, and how people viewed her as a result. On one side, she's too OP and/or Mary Sue, but on the other, she's a bitch for having flaws. It's like there's no middle. Like u said, she was punished for her prejudice, and then for falling in love with Lotor and learning to trust and work with the Galra. (1/?)
With that random colony plot, sheās chalked up to being dumb and not knowing better, as if she hadnāt already been framed as constantly being in the wrong. She was insecure about her alchemic abilities and full of self-doubt, which Lotor helped her overcome, but then sheās back to questioning herself all over again. Another thing that truly bothers me is people attacking and putting the full blame on her for that poorly developed relationship between her and Lance. (2/?)
My girl sacrificed everything important to her in order to help others, and when they returned to Earth, the Paladins went to their own families, leaving her alone. Lance offered her comfort, and with nowhere else to go, Allura took it. I think itās unfair to call her heartless or say she was just toying with Lanceās feelings and trying to make herself feel better. Yes, she didnāt love him the way she thought she did, but that doesnāt mean she didnāt care about him. (3/?)
If anything, Allura felt guilty when the mice told her about Lanceās feelings because she saw him as a close friend and comrade and didnāt want to upset him. People also seem to forget she was basically pressured into saying yes when he asked her out, with Hunk and Romelle pushing on as well, despite saying no at first. It seemed like she had no choice but to give in. (4/?)
Ahahah that was really long so sorry about that. Iām guessing u have already come across similar things from people who share the same feelings on this. I know, itās stupid to get so worked up over a cartoon that ended almost 2 years ago, but Iāve never come across a show where characters that I love so much got screwed over completely. Iām just grateful to know that there are others who appreciate the same characters I do and share similar views, without things being black and white
Oh my anon, this is a huge message indeed, but I love it when people come into my inbox to rant about how my girl deserved better from both the show and this awful fandom. Allura really canāt win in this fandom. Sheās either an OP Mary Sue who is too perfect and not compelling or sheās too flawed and such a bitch that sheās not likable. Iāve said this to Lightning and Iāll say it here: Allura is the most human. I personally find her to be extremely relatable. And sometimes I wonder if people give her a hard time because of that. She may be a beautiful space princess, but sheās also like us in a lot of ways.Ā
I think aside from the horrible things they did to Lotor with that bullshit colony plot, what they did to Allura was pretty awful as well. Throughout the series they were constantly putting her in the wrong about things. She was punished for not trusting the Galra and then she was punished for falling in love with one. With Lotor on the throne, we see her at her happiest and most confident. And thatās great right? Thereās actually a chance for peace! WRONG! No we canāt let her have good things. So letās shoehorn in a really dumb plot point that makes absolutely sense to take all that away from her. Great idea! And thatās also apparently her fault too.Ā
Oof you know, I hate the Lance/Allura relationship with a passion. They couldāve had a great friendship and Lance couldāve genuinely been a great friend to her. But you know, Lance stans treat her like sheās the absolute devil because sheĀ āplayed with his feelingsā andĀ āused him.ā Alluraās whole arc was her giving and giving till she lost everything. She was essentially stripped down so that she could be brought down to his level. Somehow sheās still the worst because she was talked into a date with a guy she barely had feelings for. She did care about him, thatās obvious. She cared about them all. But letās face itā¦the only one who was really someone I could consider a friend for Allura is Shiro. Because in the end, she was alone. She had no one that understood her or could truly empathize with her. Lotor was probably the only one who could and the writers decided to take that from her.Ā
Allura was made to feel guilty about the feelings she didnāt have. Weāve all been there. Or at least I know I have. And then again, she got talked into that date. And tbh, I can understand why she dated him. She needed comfort, he offered comfort. But they were unhappy together. It was obvious and it was very painful. And it did break my heart. She suffered so much only to die in the end.Ā
End of the day, Iām just tired. Iām tired of seeing her hated on so hard. By stans of literally every other character when the other characters could objectively be considered worse. Iām tired of seeing people be vicious about her for making mistakes. Iām tired of seeing people say she deserved worse. Iām also tired of people saying that she didnāt care or was superficial. She wasnāt. Everyone deserved better. Lotor deserved even more than that. He deserved that happy ending after everything. But so did Allura. She deserved to be happy and to heal. And Iāll never not be angry that she didnāt get that.Ā
And itās okay, dear. This show traumatized many of us. And you know what? Itās okay to let it all out. I think weāve earned that right.Ā
VLD development team: āLotor and Allura had the greatest ability in the cast to understand each other; we wanted to make a character that was relatable to Allura that she could find solace in; Lotor genuinely appreciates Allura for who she is and what she is capable of; Lotor is immune to quintessence; we really want to simulate gritty reality with all of its complications and moral ambiguity/gray areas.ā Also VLD development team: āLotor and Allura have a sudden, massive disagreement on the most basic and previously discussed philosophy about the value of life; Allura cannot find solace in Lotor because heās murdering her people, in which his presence instead serves to shine a light on Alluraās weaknesses; Lotor doesnāt appreciate Allura or her abilities anymore and therefore concludes he should kill her and smother all memory of her; Lotor isnāt immune to quintessence and goes insane because of it; we acknowledge that the s6 plot twist where Voltron broke its universe-stabilizing alliance with Lotor in favor of moral idealism is not realistic to actual politics/reality.ā
This show is the poster child for ādamned if you do, damned if you donāt,ā lol. They really created the ultimate, impossible and unwinnable situation for Allura, as well as for many other characters.
And I feel like fans focusing solely on character behavior to hate on them allows the development team responsible for all the bad messaging to side-step their complicity in developing said painful messages/cognitive dissonance. At the end of the day, both the VLD characters and the fans of the show were victims of an incoherent, bait-and-switch plot that betrayed even itself. Itās really no wonder that fandom has fragmented in such destructive waysā¦.
Iāve said it before and Iāll say it again. Vld treated its characters of color like absolute garbage, and in response the fandom rages against the same characters of color who have no agency of their own instead of the white people that wrote them that way.
I will yell about how much I hate how Allura was written but I will never insinuate that I hate Allura. Same with Lance.
They all deserved so much better.
