sensory deprivation tanks though
EXID just dropped the MV for their track 아예 (Ah Yeah), and it is much more than “good enough” (2:58). Drawing on the talents of every member, 아예 (Ah Yeah) really does pick up where 위 아래 (Up & Down) left off musically. The familiar sound of the saxophone returns here, coupled with another chorus fit to jam to (with even more horns). But there’s more. The concept and execution of the MV is brilliant in my eyes. The colors are vibrant and the the visuals solid, with censoring and glitched visuals replete throughout. I really enjoy the themes of censorship, as well as the personalities of Hani and LE with the man in the video. The internet vibe from Junghwa and clips of EXID’s channel are done in a way that isn’t tacky, and in fact, my favorite part of the MV is on Solji’s high note when the play count for the video jumps to over 321,761,221 (2:36). The dance moves in this single are well done on their own, but also have a nod to the success of the 위 아래 (Up & Down) dance, incorporating the similar hip movements fans will recognize. The way the members have fun with the choreography and each other seems apparent, and the tone of the MV picks up near the end when the censorship is lifted (2:45). To sum up my reactions and opinions to 아예 (Ah Yeah), I feel that EXID has returned with a comeback worthy of much attention and love, and I truly hope they get more recognition from here on out for the work they have clearly put in. There is much more I can say, but for now this will have to do. EXID fighting!
