Born out of an upbringing of video games, music videos, pop culture, e-numbers and high street fashion we felt a need for an even faster, more simple, and inexpensive way to achieve new looks, celebrate art and express ourselves. Disposable fashion without the guilt. We are huge fans of tattoos and body art and are in awe of the beautiful pieces we see every day and the quality of work being produced by illustrators, tattoo artists and designers around the world.

Hello everyone! The Kickstarter campaign for Trashtatt ends today at 4:29pm. I still am only 80% funded. If I don't reach the target total I receive nothing (all of the pledges made so far will not be charged). I really want to be able to make this a success and to be able to fulfill the huge amount of pre-orders placed so far via my Kickstarter campaign. If you are looking for gifts / stocking fillers then please consider some artist designed temporary tattoos! They really are super cool, beautiful and fun. They are suitable for everyone - kids and adults. Pledges can be as low as £1 and for all pledges over £5 there are some amazing rewards! We have so far had a brilliant response with some backers even going for our Party boxes for £250 (retail value over £450!).  Please take a moment to have a look and back us if you can. So it is less than 2 days until the Kickstarter deadline and I still have a fair way to go to hit the target of £4000. Thank you all so much for your support and super nice messages. This project has taught me so much I feel I have been through some sort of ninja training! I am humbled by the kindness of friends and strangers and also overwhelmed by the interest that has been shown by artist and illustrators wanting to contribute to the project. So thank you all you lovely people.

NOW AN UPDATE...

The packaging samples that I have received are just beautiful and I have managed to ensure that almost every one of the materials used are ethically sourced, produced and if possible recycled. 

We still have not reached our target but, ever the optimist, I am looking to the future and thinking of all the ways to ensure success for Trashtatt regardless of this result. I must admit it has been difficult to get any press or blogger interest with no samples to send out to them - which is totally understandable. As soon as the target is reached this will change within two weeks and I have now a huge database of contact details from interested journalists and bloggers waiting for their samples packs to arrive!

I have also been securing a local manufacturer for my range of metallic jewellery temporary tattoos that I have been developing. The closest I have found that produce tattoos that meet our strict printing standards, is in France! I have seen metallic tattoos increasingly on social media and even sold through high street retail outlets, which I am really pleased about, as they are amazing and look beautiful on! What saddens me is that throughout this process I have researched the manufacturing process of the metallic tattoos and found that nearly every single retailer and online shop (including the big names) are sourcing their stock from China. The first problem with this is that they are all the same designs. I have personally ordered stock from most UK and US outlets selling metallic tattoos and only 3 of them were original designs. The rest were either exactly the same or ones that I had seen advertised by tens of Chinese factories. The second problem is the obvious carbon footprint issues of manufacturing halfway across the world. The third is the problem of ethics - are the working conditions at any factory good, what is the pay like - if the factory is thousands of miles away are you really going to check?

I have so much in store for Trashtatt, it feels like an endless source of inspiration. If you have any free time over the next two days please share again this project with your friends, pets, parents, strangers, lovers, whoever! One last push could send us soaring past the goal and into production! If you wish to increase your bid by ordering more rewards just shoot me a message as Kickstarter does seem to allow multiple reward selections. I really want to make sure you all get Trashtatted up for christmas so I will be doing everything I can to make this a success for you, for me and for all the artist contributors!
