“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” ― Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
“It’s not just other people we need to forgive. We need to forgive ourselves.”
— Mitch Albom (via meineluft)
There are days that I feel bothered by my own existence.
“It’s amazing how 3 minutes with the wrong person feels like an eternity, yet 3 hours with the right one… feels like only a moment.”

Murphy’s law
I’m not a planner. I can’t think 5 minutes from now much less days, weeks or months from now. And you know why? Because the times I actually do make plans some sort of fuckery always happens and fucks it all up. I’m never surprised when it happens. I’ve come to accept it.
“Surely I was made for some other purpose than this.”
— Evelyn Waugh, Brideshead Revisited (via the-book-diaries)
“The more I threw away, the more I found.”
— Don DeLillo, White Noise (via the-book-diaries)
The sky looked exceptionally bright and blue today. Had it always been this way? Guess I didn’t notice such things for quite some time now.
“She began to do as she liked and to feel as she liked. She had resolved never to take another step backward.”
— Kate Chopin, The Awakening (via the-book-diaries)
“Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself.”
— Truman Capote, Breakfast At Tiffany’s (via the-book-diaries)
“And when at last you find someone to whom you feel you can pour out your soul, you stop in shock at the words you utter— they are so rusty, so ugly, so meaningless and feeble from being kept in the small cramped dark inside you so long.”
— Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath (via the-book-diaries)
“Look at how unlikely our meeting was. Look at the vastness of the universe encompassing all the things we don’t know and the things we think we know. Look at me, at us, together – here and now. Isn’t this some form of a miracle?”
— N.M.Sanchez
“It’s not my responsibility to be beautiful. I’m not alive for that purpose. My existence is not about how desirable you find me.”
— Warsan Shire (via thoughtkick)
“Life changes fast. Life changes in the instant. You sit down to dinner and life as you know it ends.”
— Joan Didion, The Year of Magical Thinking (via the-book-diaries)
Okay
You know that feeling of hopelessness, don’t you? That feeling that nothing in the whole entire world is right and you cannot possibly fathom how it can be any other way.
Then one day you wake up and think “Shit ain’t so bad”. Sure it can always be better. You can have more money, lose 5 pounds spend a year traveling the world, but in that one moment you feel alright.
So yeah, today I feel okay.
