alex was content to travel through high school largely unnoticed ( well - liked enough due to her brother but without any actual attention to speak of — happy, and with some friends, but not ‘popular’ ) but did gain a minor reputation due to two things.  one: skipping class and generally being a bit of a rebel, especially after michael died.  and two: people gave ren shit/bullied him/etc. and — her response was, naturally, to literally fight them.
