Nix | they/them | 28 | Feb. 11 | queer ace | I draw and post stuff when I have the time and motivation. Current hyperfixation: Pokemon, and specifically the Subway Bosses. I also love other games, YouTube, and anime. Support me on Kofi! 🩵
Commissions! I decided I'd now not only offer sketch/drawing commissions, but also painting commissions! Any of the pet and landscape comms will be on 8 x 10" canvas, while the smaller abstract pieces will be on smaller square canvases. If you'd like your painting mailed to you, we can talk about that as well in DMs. My stickers are also still for sale here if you're interested, all priced at $2.50. I'd just like to be able to have some more income so I can try and save up more to be able to move out with my gf. This will help with bills while I save money, and I'd really appreciate any comms or sticker sales that I can get.
I also now have a Kofi for tips/donations, or if you'd prefer to pay for comms through that instead of Paypal or Venmo! I'd really appreciate any help I can get! Thank you!
Professor Layton is often described as being attractive and has multiple people crushing on him. If he were in a college anime there’d be a harem club dedicated to him.
But this is the style he’s drawn in.
Meanwhile Phoenix Wright looks like the stereotypical hot anime boy that you’d think would be the object of many a person’s dreams…
But his looks are constantly ridiculed and insulted and half the people he has helped don’t even remember his name. Usually the insults are directed at his hair but like… he doesn’t even have the weirdest hair in the franchise.
Longtime readers may be aware of how much I relish an excuse to bully a company, so I'm sharing the wealth;
Clothing company Patagonia is currently sueing drag queen Pattie Gonia for "irreparable” harm to their brand.
To be clear; Pattie named herself after the region in South America.
So Pattie is asking people to politely ask Patagonia to drop the lawsuit.
I'm extending the invitation to all of you, because sueing a drag queen for 'infringement' in the current political cultural landscape is vile.
Especially a drag queen who has raised millions of dollars for non-profits, uses her platform to raise awareness for climate activism, and fully aligns with Patagonia's apparent climate-conscious mission statement.
They're claiming they're sueing for $1. They're actually asking her to stop using her name, and pay over $1 million in legal fees. They're straight up harassing her.
In contrast, drag queen Jan Sport has a Jansport bag line. It's that easy to just... work with a queen.
Anyway. Be respectful(ish), but feel free to be annoying on Patagnoia's socials, asking them to 'DROP THE LAWSUIT'
So, I've been working on and off for a few months now on this idea for a story. Knowing how my adhd and motivation work, who knows how much I'll actually make right now for it, but I have the five main characters set (3/5 designed), the basic premise, and a few other details.
Right now, all I'll say is this is your classic isekai, more similar to Sword Art Online or I'm in Love With the Villainess, cuz it's a video game world. 26-year-old Lyra Vaughn finds herself in her favorite video game after she █████ ██ ████ ███████ ██ ██████████, and now she gets to live in a fun JRPG as a cleric. Along the way, she'll meet other isekai'd humans who ████ █████ ██ ████ ██████████, interact with various NPCs, and help the hero defeat the villain. But maybe there are also some darker things at play, and this fun world isn't all that it seems...
This is a chapter 2 of sorts to my Split Ingo (In/go) au where Arceus splits Ingo in two, sending one to Hisui and keeping one in Unova, each with their own unique cases of amnesia. Writing for it can be found here with the prologue, and here with chapter 1. Check out any art under the tag "split ingo au" (or "in/go au" cuz I like both names).
This chapter is all about Ingo and Emmet after living with Ingo's amnesia for several years, and realizing they might not be alone.
Word count: 1,551
Over the past few years, Ingo and Emmet had found a routine to settle into with the change created by Ingo's amnesia. They still ran Gear Station together, but now Ingo took over more of the train and operations related work, while Emmet took over the Battle Subway entirely. While Ingo made sure the passenger trains ran properly and worked with their employees on the operations side of the workplace, Emmet manned both the Singles and Doubles lines, switching between the two each day. The Multi lines were still closed indefinitely, but this at least gave challengers two out of the three options to choose from.
In their personal lives, the twins, their family, and their friends all accepted that Ingo might never get his memories back. So they all worked around this. Emmet and Iris referred to him mainly as Brother, Drayden called him Son, and their friends like Elesa and Skyla called him a variety of either Brother, Friend, or on occasion, Dork or the Older Train Nerd. Ingo could remember all of those, and it saved them from having to constantly and futilely remind him of his name.
So, they made it work, and they found a new norm for their lives.
It was an ordinary afternoon, with Emmet sitting and scrolling through his Xtrans, while Ingo was beside him on the couch. The older twin was flicking through channels, attempting to find anything interesting to watch as he pet Excadrill. The little mole pokemon was curled up on his lap, always careful of his sharp claws, purring as Ingo stroked his fur. Meanwhile, Emmet was looking up more things on amnesia, having now moved on from trying to find ways to help deal with it, to fun facts about memories and the brain. It helped keep the attitude towards Ingo's situation light, and sometimes it gave them hope that someday his memories would return. Other times it gave them fun new words to latch on to like hippocampus.
As he scrolled through sites that he had already seen a million times, he suddenly came across a new search result. It was a recent news article from Sinnoh: "Champion Dawn Stepping Down After Developing Amnesia." His curiosity piqued, Emmet clicked on the article and selected the option to translate the full page to Galarian.
"Two weeks ago, 13-year-old Champion Dawn Futaba reports having woken up with some of her memories seemingly erased from her mind. According to Dawn and her mother, Johanna Futaba, she can remember herself, friends and family, but nothing about pokemon or battling.
'When I look at my pokemon, I can't remember anything about them. I know the nicknames I gave them all, but that's it,' Champion Dawn told us in an interview.
'Movesets, typings, battle techniques, and even contest coordinating are all gone from her memory,' her mother, Ms Futaba confirmed. 'We're currently trying to figure out the cause and how to fix this, so we ask for some privacy during all of this please.'
Former Champion Cynthia Muramoto also asked for the family's privacy. She confirmed that she would be helping them while also taking up her previous role with the League until Dawn can return. When we asked about anything she knew about Dawn's case, Champion Cynthia said this:
'All Dawn can remember is that she had some sort of dream with a bright light and a loud, booming voice. She can't remember anything else. But rest assured, she is seeing various doctors and psychologists to try and figure this out.'
Please stay tuned for any updates regarding any more information about Champion Dawn's strange case of amnesia. And hopefully, doctors can find a cure for Sinnoh's beloved newest Champion."
Emmet's eyes widened. Sure, her case wasn't exactly like Ingo's, but it was similar! Unknown cause, no concussion, and only certain memories - especially those pertaining to pokemon - were erased from their minds.
"Brother!" Emmet excitedly smacked Ingo's arm, startling both him and Excadrill, who gave out a scared squeak.
"Ah! Emmet, I'm right here! No need to yell or smack me!" Ingo lightly smacked him back, still annoyed at being startled. Excadrill glared at Emmet, then scampered off.
"Sorry. And sorry, Excadrill! I'll give you treats later!" Emmet apologized. He then held out his Xtrans. "But look at this!"
Ingo took the Xtrans and read through the article. His eyes widen a bit as he went on.
"Her amnesia sounds quite similar to mine!" Ingo exclaimed.
"Exactly! Maybe we could share what we know with them and find a cure for both you and the Sinnoh Champion!" Emmet exclaimed.
"Emmet, we can't just fly over to Sinnoh and bombard this poor girl and her mother simply because my case is similar," his brother pointed out. "There are still differences. She remembers her name while I don't, and while I can at least recognize my pokemon and certain others, it sounds like she can't remember any pokemon."
"We do not have to fly over. What if I just sent her mother or Champion Cynthia an email?" Emmet suggested. "We can still just talk over email, and maybe do a video call if they would be okay with that."
"An email isn't a bad idea," Ingo conceded. "They can at least say no if they want to keep their privacy."
"Yup. Now I just need to find out either of their email addresses." Emmet took back his Xtransceiver and started looking for how to contact the former Sinnoh Champion or Champion Dawn's mother.
"Just let me read over whatever you write before you send it," Ingo said warily. "I don't want to put any pressure on them to respond, and I don't want you making my case sound any crazier than it already is."
"I am Emmet. I will not lie to them, Brother," Emmet said with a roll of his eyes. "I will simply explain our situation and that it might be a good idea to join cabs to help each other out."
"Alright. Still, I'd like to read it and to also put my own words in the email as well."
"Understood."
~~~~~~~~~~
Cynthia got a lot of emails nowadays. Most pertaining to her work in the League now that she took over for Dawn, but also many from doctors across the world trying to offer their two pokécents on Dawn's situation. She often ignored those since most of them offered information or advice that they'd already heard. However, this evening, as she sat at home, she saw a new email from someone not claiming to be a doctor. It was from a Subway Boss Emmet. Ah yes, the Subway Bosses of Unova! She had never spoken to either of them, but from what she'd seen, they appeared to be good trainers and ran the Unova subway well. Though, hadn't one stepped down from battling a few years ago? Out of curiosity, Cynthia clicked the email.
"Dear Champion Cynthia,
I am Subway Boss Emmet of Unova. I run the subway here with my twin brother, Ingo. But a few years ago, he had to step away from our Battle Subway due to amnesia. We still don't know how he developed it. He had no concussion. The doctors suspect trauma. They call it dissociative amnesia. He can remember family and friends and our pokemon specifically, but any memories pertaining to battling or pokemon overall are gone. He also cannot remember his own name. We saw an article about Champion Dawn's amnesia recently and thought it sounded similar. We were wondering if we could talk with you or Champion Dawn and her mother themselves.
I am Ingo. Or at least, that is what my brother and everyone else remind me of. What Emmet has written is true. I had gone to investigate some disturbance in our subway tunnels, and all I can remember is that it was dark and I can vaguely remember something talking to me before I passed out. That may or may not have been a dream. All I know now is that many of my memories have derailed, similar to Champion Dawn. I think we could help each other. She is the only other one who has a case even remotely similar to mine. And I would be more than happy to assist her in any way I can. Please, at least consider our request.
Signed,
The Subway Bosses of Unova"
So that was why Subway Boss Ingo had stepped away from battling? It certainly all sounded similar to Dawn, and it wasn't like Cynthia had known of the two lying before. Quickly, she looked up Ingo's case of amnesia, and sure enough, she found article after article - some going back to five years ago - detailing his amnesia, the brothers' decision to have Ingo step down from the Battle Subway, and how the subway would continue to run with these changes. Hmm. Cynthia supposed it was at least worth it to respond back to them.
"Dear Subway Bosses,
Your situation does sound similar, and I've found articles confirming what you've said. I'll talk with Dawn and her mother about possibly talking more with you both about this, but I make no promises. But I appreciate the offers to help. I'll be in touch.
So, I've been working on and off for a few months now on this idea for a story. Knowing how my adhd and motivation work, who knows how much I'll actually make right now for it, but I have the five main characters set (3/5 designed), the basic premise, and a few other details.
I am attempting to draw, lol, it's just mainly happening at work. I drew the eyes some time last week, the sad Caine was from yesterday, and I spent the last hour of work today drawing torture Caine (in between doing actual work, lol)
I would've used red but I could only find a blue highlighter
